Does anyone have the best recommendation for means of transporation other then the taxi's. If car rental, which company do you feel is the best?

you can arrange transportation thru the hotel. That way you pay a good price and when you get off the plane go straight outside so that you dont get bombarded with the timeshare people selling you TS and giving you things in return.

There is also the option of the bus. When you are at baggage claim, look for the bus ticket window (before you leave the claim area). You can get a good fare, and then walk right outside and get on the bus.

It stops at several resorts along the way depending on how many people are on the bus, but the first stop is for beer, so it makes the drive very enjoyable!
