We will be visiting this resort from March 24-31. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

OMG, this will be the best vacation of your life, in my opinion. We visited 2 yrs ago (May) on one of those sales tours (so we could vacation at a discount). We loved it so much, we went back last year and rented a week again in mid May. We were enticed to go on another tour (offered us 1 nite free off our bill) and the salesperson tried and tried to get us to buy one of the newer resort timeshares, to no avail. We absolutely love the Monarch and bought a timeshare there, (they are extremely hard to come by because no one wants to sell) though it is one of the older resorts. The reason we love this site is that it is at the very end of the gated community and therefore not as congested with other nearby vacationers. They have several outdoor pools (one heated) and three outdoor hottubs. No other site (and we've visited many of them on tours) has these amenities. The others are "prettier" but also have many many more units = lots more people. The grounds at the Monarch have miles of bike paths which take you through parks, across golf courses, and we usually end our ride (about 2 miles) at the lighthouse/ playground/entertainment/gift shops/Crazy Crab restaurant (which we frequently dine at) in one location. If you go at a left angle from the grounds, you can ride over to Harbortown (this is all within our gated Seapines area) which has live bands/casual seafood restaurant/awesome homemade ice cream shop/t-shirt shops. From there, you can ride your bikes back along the beach to the Monarch. If you have children, for $5 per activity, they can do t-shirt or pillowcase painting, make necklaces etc. They also have storytime and diving for treasures (in the warm pool). Our children are 7 & 8 and they talk about their vacations to Hilton Head all the time. We usually go into town (about 3 miles) to the local Publix grocery (it's expensive) and stock up for breakfast, lunch & snacks). There is a CVS and video store also in that shopping Plaza and if you go back across the island's expressway (only about 10 miles), you can find a Walmart. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to send me a message. I just love Hilton Head and the Monarch and can't think of anything negative to say. Debbie Cameron

Thank you Debbie so much for your response. It's always nice to get positive affirmations and suggestions about the destination and resort that you are going to. You are making us anticipate this trip even more! If you think of anything else please pass it along. Also, if we have a good experience and would like to return sometime. We own at two wonderful 5 star resorts: The Ridge Tahoe which is a ski in/ski out resort at Heavenly Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe and Los Abrigados in Sedona. Thank you again for your time and information. Anita Davis
