Our favorite is The Black Pelican (beach road milepost 4). It gets busy at dinnertimes so if you can, go a little before or after. Midafternoon is the perfect time. Hurricane Mo's right beside it is pretty good w/good prices. Miller's Restaurant at MP 9.5 (beach road) is a nice family restaurant, good prices. Their hush puppies are amazing. Awful Arthur's has great steamed shrimp. We've heard good things about Penguin Isle (mp16 on the bypass) and plan to go there this year. Also, if you like steamed shrimp, try the Seamark grocery store by the superwalmart. There's a counter inside where you can order certain kinds of seafood and eat it there. The area buffets are ok. We used to go to those, but quality is sometimes an issue. Have a nice trip!
