I am hoping to stay 2 weeks at a hotel in Aruba. If the hotel I choose only has 7 day stays, has anyone ever rented 2 different timeshares back to back at the same location? Did it go smoothly? I pretty much go with the flow but I will have my elderly mother and aunt with me and I'd like things to seem very easy for them. How do the hotels usually accomodate these requests?

Thank you for any advice you have!

I don't think you'll have a problem renting back to back weeks. They may be different room locations, but at the same resort. Many people I know do that at the Playa Linda. Good luck!

I own three weeks. I have not been to aruba in 3 years. So I had accumulated 9 weeks. 4 weeks I kept, one I gave as a wedding gift, 4 I rented. The four weeks I kept, I went from July 28 07 to Aug 25,07. No problems booking. I booked one year in advance per week. So I had to call, the resorts 4 times(one per week). No problems, so it can be done. You just have to do it early enough.

Hello,

I have never rented a timeshare condo and have some questions. Are the fees quoted here the actual prices? It seems to cheap to have a condo for 1 week for 6 people for $2000. Are there other prices? Is this an all inclusive resort included in that price? Is it on the beach?

Thank you,

Yes, those prices are the actual prices. Most do not include the all-inclusive. You can purchase that when you get to the hotel. And if you're looking at the Occidental in particular, it is definitely on the beach. All the hotels along Palm Beach are on the beach.

Have a blast!

thank you for your response. Do you reccommend any hotels to go to in Aruba??? Is the Palm Beach, the same beach as Oranjastead? Any information would be GREAT.

Thanks,

I personally like Palm Beach, because all the hotels are there and you can walk to each casino, the stores, etc. Most of the hotels there are very nice. For me, the Marriott is too far at the end, but people who go there really like it. Oranjestad is the capital, and there is tons of shopping & all the cruise ships stop there. You can take the bus there from the hotels. If you stay at a hotel there, chances are they are not on the beach. One hotel has a boat that takes you to a private beach (the hotel itself is very nice). I'm the type who wants to walk right out on the beach, so Palm Beach is the best. Also, one great thing - there are no people walking along trying to sell you stuff and annoying you while you're relaxing on the beach. There is only one person who has a permit to do so, and that's the Aloe Guy. And he's great, you actually look forward to seeing him, he's so funny & nice. Last year I stayed at the Occidental, this year I'm staying at Divi Aruba. The Occidental is a bit nicer but the Divi is perfectly fine, and we wanted a kitchen (Occidental has kitchens, just not at the time we were going). Feel free to ask as many questions as you want. It's a great little Island & I can't wait to go back. I'll be there in 22 DAYS!!!!!

I am new to this site not sure this is the route we want to go but....looking at renting 2 weeks ( I guess 2 back to back ) what are the all inclusive rates for the Occidental? Other than purchasing the All Inclusive do you have to pay a maint fee on top of the listed prices?

I have a timeshare at this all-inclusive resort. I will want to be renting my weeks - when i quote a price, should I include the all inclusive fee? or just the room rate/week?

Another logistical question - this timeshare week can be used at other Occidental resorts - how would you recommend indicating this flexibility in an ad? The all-inclusive fee varies quite a bit between resorts.

thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Elizabeth,

Since the AI fee is paid to the resort at check in it would be best for you to only post your rental fee. In the "Details" area of the posting you can elaborate more on the all inclusive fee and if it's mandatory or not. If you know more information about it what's included with the AI fees please add that information.

As far as the flexibility of your posting, please add your rental to the your home resort or one of the resorts that would be the most popular. Then again, in the Details area include where else your week can be used.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Marty
