Good Quality Family Resort

Lakeside Villas is across the road from the white sandy shore of the internationally acclaimed trout fishing Lake Taupo. This is New Zealand's largest lake and it offers family leisure opportunities such as fishing, skiiing, jetboating, swimming and sightseeing.
As we have been owners at this resort since the 1980's, we have made many comparisons with local and overseas resorts. Always we are delighted with the level of amenities here. Notably, the full-sized tennis court, the indoor squash court, the tepid indoor pool. To idle away another couple of hours, there is a snooker/pool table, table tennis table, outdoor trampoline... great at keeping the teenagers entertained too. The Villa sleep 6 units are well-sized, and include private outdoor spas. The other units share resort spas.
The town has delightful shopping - only 4-5 blocks from the resort - and indoor bowls, movie theatre and sports stadium events. Supermarkets, rental cars are easy to locate.
Taupo has set itself apart by hosting national events many weekends throughout the year, including car-racing, jetboating, triathlon, mountain to lake run, ironman, chef event, cycling, 1-day cricket, etc.etc.... These are great free entertainment. In the summer you can go hotairballooning, plane flights, parasailing, hole-in-one golf....u name it! Or go jetboating, bungy jumping, explore Huka Falls, trek along the river, try the thermal pools.....only 1.5 hours drive to the snow skiing areas. You will not run out of places to see.
Be prepared for a windy, not-so-warm day or two every
week! With the stunning mountain view comes the odd bitter wind.
