rent a car or not

going to stt in june..
does the resort offer excursions where the tours pick you up at the hotel?
Is there a charge for the water taxi to town?
can you use the beach at the timeshares if you are staying at the hotel? ?all public beaches?

I stayed there last year and some excursions will pickup at the hotel, but most require a taxi ride or car. I had a car and it was rarely used, but better than relying on a taxi.

Water taxi is about $6 if I remember correctly.

All beaches are technically public, but the facilities would not be. I liked morningstar beach better than the time share beach.
