buying points or a timeshare

Jan 21, 2010

We own a red week at Lake Okanagon in BC, and a week at the Grand Mayan, and are having problems finding availability with RCI. So we thought we would buy a cheap timeshare (local - such as Pacific Shores, which we like and is close by) because they are on the points program. We thought we'd be able to deposit our weeks and use them as points. Is this a good idea? Or is it better to buy RCI points directly?

If we do buy, who is a good co to buy from - we're looking at Holiday and sellmytimeshare.com and who is a good closing co that deals with Canadian deeded timeshares?

Thanks for any help. Very confused and don't want to get scammed.
