Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Has anyone used Timeshare Realty Specialists

Don't be a moron. There is not any company claiming to get you out of timeshares which is not a scam operation. If you are just itching to get rid of $3500, give it to your local community food bank.

Hi all,

A very good friend of mine just recommended to talk to a man name Mark from this timeshare specialist company. I am asking my friends on Facebook to recommend me any company that I could call so I could cancel my two timeshares. I posted it because I have called two different companies one named advocate financial services and the other MTG consultants one is in Fort Lauderdale Florida and the other is in Maine. One is charging 3500 to cancel one timeshare and the other company MTG consultants is asking for 3500 to cancel both my timeshares. As a customer wanting to free myself from these two timeshares that have done nothing for me and just becoming debt for me. I found both when I spoke to them to be credible but of course I'm a little bit skeptical period..because they both talk a good game MTG Consultants said I can do payments installments of the 3500..to cancel my 2 timeshares and the other one in Fort Lauderdale Florida said I have to pay him the 3500 upfront. my timeshares are Bluegreen (so horrible) and Fanta sea resorts in Atlantic City New Jersey. Has anyone here ever been successful canceling their timeshare? andwhat company did you use so I can please call them mention your name and cancel mine .Any help advice recommendations would be appreciated. I am so embarrassed to have got myself into me and my family in this time share junk our intention was.. of course family trips gatherings in beautiful places but honestly it has not been that way and we don't use it and we pay monthly for nothing. Thank you very much for any feedback and its very much appreciated. ilein Madison, Wi

NEVER pay anyone money upfront that claims they can get you out of your timeshare. Like David states they are all scam operations. All they want is your upfront money. If you are desperate enough to send them money then they put you on the " sucker list " and you will be contacted by them again claiming they can recover the money you lost in the first place. It's a never ending scam.

First of all, "cancel" is a misnomer. You cannot "cancel" a timeshare. It is deeded property that you own. If you want to end your ownership, you have to find a willing taker whether you give your unit to that party or sell it. So now the question is How do I find a party to take over ownership?

For one thing, the two companies that you mentioned who are wanting to squeeze $3500 out of you are going to do one of three things. They will either negotiate with the resort(s) in question (or threaten) to take your unit back, get you to sign a Power of Attorney (POA) so they can be authorized to sell your unit on E-Bay or elsewhere for $1, or do what's commonly referred to in the timeshare industry as a Viking Ship. Either way, these are things you can do yourself for a lot less than $3500.

You can try to negotiate with the resort to take your unit back. The resort might ask you to pay the next maintenance fee and possibly closing costs. That would still work out to a lot less than $3500. Or you can try listing your unit for sale here on RedWeek in the Bargain Basement and maybe even offer to pay the closing costs and next maintenance fee. Again, a lot less than $3500. Timeshare Users Group (aka "TUG"; tugbbs.com) also has a Bargain Deals section where you can advertise for free that you want to give your unit(s) away.

I also hear that Facebook has a Bluegreen group. If you are a FB member, you can try mentioning in there what Bluegreen points you have that you want to give away.

Turns out this operation is a scam. They're being sued by the US government for tax fraud of $19.2million https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-shut-down-abusive-tax-scheme-involving-improper-deductions-donating

It seems they're still active in running other timeshare companies. They're also running some licensing company called viralhog too, as well as some other timeshare companies under various names.

So I stumbled across this message board while looking for a place to leave a review for M.T.G Consultants.. we had a timeshare we were foolish enough to buy into. Me and my wife went to the grandview in las vegas for our Honeymoon back in 2012, and when we checked in this guy Jeff Rausch greeted us and gave us an offer for a discounted rate plus free tickets to a concert that weekend if we attended a short tour. Long story short and 6 hours later, we were stuck in a room going back and forth with several salesmen just slamming us with offers to sign their contract every time lowering the price when we said we needed time to think, we finaly caved when they tossed in an offer for a free cruise voucher instead of the concert tickets, we weren't really interested in the show they had to offer anyways. We eventually found out how rediculous the loan and financing was for what we had just signed and that the amount of points we purchased for the timeshare was never going to be enough to really use for a vacation without upgrading. We found that out a few months later when they invited us back for a owner update meeting, and got suckered into upgrading after them telling us our membership level and point amounts were not going to be sufficient to really have the flexibility to book what we desired. Looking back I feel like a moron for getting such a huge loan, we would have payed almost $100,000 after the upgrade was finished being paid off and half of that was just the interest.. our monthly payments were double what I was paying for my car. We needed to get out of this situation and grandview was absolutely disgusting when we tried to work with them to get out of our contract. So we looked on the internet to find another option, and saw how resell companies were unreliable, but stumbled across a couple cancellation companies. M.T.G was the most affordable one we could find, and really after the monthly cost of our mortgage they were the only ones we could swing. It took us 4 months working with them to get out of the contract, which was fair considering how bad we made our situation before working with them. It wasn't too painful to go through the process with them, they did require us to do a little bit of work on our end but anytime we called or had a question our case handler was always there for us which really made us more comfortable through the process, and really the only reason we stayed with them, that and they did work with us to do a payment plan so we didnt have to cough up the full amount, we only had to pay 250 for 10 months and they started work after the first payment. If anything their customer service was reliable and empathetic which was more than I could say about the resort. In the end we managed to get a deed in lieu option from the resort, in addition to a guarantee from the resort that we would not be held liable for any past or future debt for the timeshare and our credit would be untouched. Since April when we sent back the confirmation and they replied to confirm we are free and clear we have had calls from our case handler every other week to check in and confirm our credit is still clean, and the plan is to do this I guess for a couple more months just to make sure. I can't speak for anyone else, but we really are glad we went with them and not the other companies who were asking for like 7,000 to do this same process, if at the very least the sense of calm they gave us was worth the trust that they can help us out. All I can say is for the love of god do not fall for any offers for free crap from the resorts, it's not worth the stress, but if you need help these guys are worth your time.

MTG CONSULTANTS is a Scam - Back-door company! The owner is using stolen paperwork from another Timeshare Cancellation company they worked at. This is a "GREEDY EMPLOYEE WHO THINKS HE CAN DO IT ON HIS OWN SITUATION" It's 2017 and these Starving Individuals cannot start a business on their own so they steal from their employers and turn the use of the company’s resources for personal development., it's this generation. #BACKDOOR SPECIALISTS the owner of PTC worked at TimeshareReleaseNow.com in Maine I guess.
