Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Is there insurance for renters of timeshares?

Nov 14, 2014

Hi, This will be my first rental through Red Week. I am absolutely terrified of getting to Aruba and finding I have no room and being out a lot of money. The renter is requesting payment in full as soon as she supplies us with the confirmation from the Divi that the certificate is in our name. Back to my question, is there insurance to cover possible fraud? I know VRBO offers it to their renters.

Can an owner cancel a guest certificate after payment? Is there any other way to safeguard myself besides verification of ownership, contacting the Divi and signing a lease?

Thanks for any advice.

Michelle

We purchase though insure my trip. You can buy for your airline costs and the room costs or one or the other. I think you have to purchase theninsurance within a certain # of days after making your payment.
