Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay and Problems with it

My husband and I bought a presidential unit (junior suite and master suite one bedroom suite combined) FIXED two weeks 51 and 52 i(Christmas and New Years) in December 1999 and now want to sell the junior suite side as we don't need the space. The sales department states we cannot "split" this unit for sales purposes. Our contract is silent on this topic. We have been splitting this unit for the last 15 years and renting one or other of the sides and will NOT accept the statement that we must sell the "entire" unit as a presidential unit.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of trouble? What were YOU told when you bought? we were told we could rent, sell, split the unit and our kids could inherit it when we died.
