Marriott’s Maui Ocean Club is one of the most popular timeshare resorts – and for good reason. The listings you see here are for the original structure, a converted hotel that offers one-bedroom/two-bath and two- bedroom/three-bath accommodations on nine floors. Each unit features a king bed and lanai in the master suite, and TVs with DVD players. These units have a kitchenette with microwave, mini-refrigerator, and dishwasher. If you need a full kitchen, washer and dryer in-unit, or a third bedroom, there are two other buildings that share the same property with these features. Please see: Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina Villas and Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Napili Villas.

Marriott's Maui Ocean Club is located in the town of Lahaina and overlooks Maui's Ka'anapali Beach. It's also just blocks from Whaler Village for great dining and shopping. Location is perfect for whale watching in the winter.

Kids and kids-at-heart will get a kick out of the resort's 3.5-acre super pool complete with a water slide, waterfalls, and children's area. The poolside bar is a great place to rest and relax while the little ones splash until their heart's content. Maui Ocean Club also offers amenities such as a beauty shop, barbecue area, game room, and restaurants.

If you are looking for a unit with a full kitchen please see Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina Villas. The units in this main building at Marriott's Maui Ocean Club do not have full kitchens nor in unit washer and dryers.

If your timeshare is in the Lahaina Villas of Marriott's Maui Ocean Club please add your posting under Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina Villas. If your unit is in the Napili Villas, please add your posting under Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Napili Villas

Parking: on-site and valet parking available for a daily fee.

The beauty of this resort is that Marriott continues to add amenities to make your vacation even better. They've added a community kitchen with stove tops for cooking and several additional grill areas to sit outside and watch the sunset while you grill. And every area is kept very clean. We love visiting this resort year after year.

Small enough to give that intimate feeling that some of the larger resorts lack. A great family and honeymoon resort with all the amenities you want. Restaurants and shopping all within walking distance. Good snorkeling 50 - 100 yards directly off shore. Unbelievable sunsets. Bring your camera, but you'll only have 2-3 minutes each night to catch that sunset moment. Once at the horizon, the suns sets fast. lol Our best times ever have been at this Marriott.

We have been owners at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club since 2001 and have gone every year (sometimes twice a year) taking our daughters and friends. It has provided us with many wonderful family memories. We love the location, staff and facilities.

Just returned from Marrott's Maui Ocean Club, where my family of 4 had an awesome time! I really enjoyed working with owner Peter Konopak. He was quick to respond and very patient in answering all of my questions. We had a Oceanview 1 bedroom 2 bath unit with balcony, partial kitchen, eating area, & pullout couch. Perfect for our family of 4. This place was in an awesome location right on Kaanapali Beach, great boogie boarding, beautiful pools, Longboard restaurant, close to Whalers Village for shopping and dinners out. We golfed, zipplined, snorkeled, surfed & did a helicopter tour. This unit is also very close to the town of Lahaina . I highly recommend working with Peter. Thanks Peter we hope to visit Maui again in the future! Susie Jag

Juliee79...enjoyed reading your review of Marriott Maui Ocean Club!! Its been a few years since snorkeling off the Maui Ocean Club beach but found the best snorkeling straight out from the surf shop, where a sea turtle cleaning station is located. I always waited till I saw the white marker flag of the divers out there before venturing out. You will be guaranteed to see many sea turtles. "Duke" is an enormous sea turtle who I had the surprise of my life encountering! A very large school of dolphins just happened to pass by as well.

We stayed for two weeks at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club from 06-29-12 to 07-13-12. We have stayed at this resort several times. We have not stayed here in a few years, and were eager to see the renovated suites. We last stayed in Maui at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Villas about two years ago.

We stopped at Walmart after leaving the airport and bought some of our groceries. The Walmart is not a Superwalmart with a full grocery store, so it is somewhat limited in its groceries. It does not have a deli, nor a produce section. It has also "gone green" by not giving out plastic bags. You have to bring your own or buy one of theirs for 50 cents each.

We arrived at MMO around 5:00 pm. Check-in was quick and easy. The first week we had a one bedroom garden view. It was a little tight for my 3 kids ages 9, 6, and 3, but was just fine. We were delighted to see we actually had a nice partial ocean view from our balcony and a beautiful view of the mountains.

The rooms were renovated tastefully. One of the best things was the mattress on the pull-out sofa. I never thought I could actually call one comfortable, but it really was. I have a bad back and need a firm mattress, and it definitely fit the bill, with memory foam to boot!

I was hoping the new renovations would include washer/dryers in the rooms, but was disappointed to see that wasn't the case. However, we found it fairly easy to use those provided by MMO located near the pool. They were free, and starter detergent was provided. Sometimes they were all being used though, and we had to come back.

As far as the resort itself, not much has changed, except for three things: 1) They added a Starbucks on-site and moved the Market Pantry over next to it. I'm not a Starbucks fan, but I'm sure this made many people happy. 2) The lobby-level kids recreational room was re-vamped. Unfortunately, the changes on that were not for the better. I liked the room much better before. All that is in the room now is a pool table,a fuze-ball game, and a ping pong table. All the video/arcarde games were taken out. The carpet has a bad odor of feet to it, which needs to be addressed. The old room had so much more to offer. Needless to say, we didn't spend much time in it. 3) They now have a movie rental kiosk in the lobby. The movies offered are limited and cost about $6.00 per night, but are still a nice addition.

I didn't note any other changes to the resort. The pool for us, is still the major draw. It is the most beautiful pool of any resort I've ever stayed in--with waterfalls, swim-through grottos, waterslides, a pirate ship pool, and multiple hot tubs. The other draw for us is the close proximity of the resort to beautiful Kaanapali Beach. It is about 75 feet away--so close that we would venture back and forth throughout the day. The beach is not very wide, but it is not crowded and absolutely breathtaking. The snorkeling is mediocre at this part of the beach, and it gets rocky about 15 feet into the water, so aqua shoes might be considered.

Our second week at the resort we stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view villa. It was absoutely heaven. The view is one of the best ocean views I've seen, over-looking the pool as well. We loved to get up in the morning and enjoy our breakfast on one of the three balconies.

Nighttime at this resort feels magical to me, with the impecabble landscaping, the lighting, the sounds of the ocean nearby, the waterfalls running at the pool, and music being played from the restaurant at the resort.

After staying here, I would unequivocally give MMO a better rating than the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, due to the better location (closer to the restaurants on Kaanapali beach and Whaler's Village), the better pool, and the closer proximity to the ocean.

We enjoyed Fourth of July fireworks on Kaanapali Beach. The fireworks are actually lit off from Lahaina. They are kind of far away, FYI. What I thought was amazing was that Maui allows people to buy their own fireworks. We bought some at Walmart and lit them off on the beach--something we are prohibited from doing in California.

While here, we went snorkeling at Kapalua Bay in Kapalua, just north of Napili (about a 15-20 min drive from MMO). It is easily the best snorkeling we have found on Maui, and one of the most beautiful beaches as well. I highly recommend it.

One big concern I want to bring up, which I hope Marriott changes soon, is the spacing between the bars both on the balconies and on the guard rail in the hallways. The gap between the railing is so wide, that a toddler could easily fall through and fall to their death. I hope Marriott wakes up and changes this soon, before they have a tragedy on their hands.

Our last day at the resort, a child defecated in the main pool. Unfortunately, this caused the pool to be closed for several hours, but I give the resort credit for their quick response.

The weather was great while we were out there, highs around 84 degrees and partly to mostly sunny most days. It was windy on several of the days.

We can't wait to come back to this resort. It is truly paradise for us.

Once again a terrific vacation at MMOC! We love the spaciousness of the 2 bedroom, 3 bath units of the 2 center buildings. The oceanfront units are especially close to the beach, and have a lot more lanai area than the newer units.

Another reason we prefer the older buildings is the open air entrances and atrium feel of the outside walkways to the units. The units built last on either side all have enclosed, dark hallways to their front doors, small lanais, fewer bathrooms, less square feet, and are further away from the main pools! The original buildings in the center have all been well maintained, and are currently being updated to the latest Marriott decor, we have never been disappointed with any of our units during our stays!

Lahaina is just a few minutes away, and offers lots of restaurants shopping. MMOC makes a great vacation, you can't go wrong!

We fell in love with this resort when we stayed here because of it's great location and access to Whalers Village and Lahaina. It is absolutely beautiful - the pool is fantastic for the kids and the beach has wonderful snorkelling. My oldest daughter even was able to take surfing lessons here. There is a beautiful golf course on the island side of the resort, so even if your view is not ocean, it is probably golf course - which is also beautiful to look at!

My husband and I have owned a timeshare at the Maui Ocean Club for 6 years and have gone each year. We ALWAYS have received excellent friendly service and have had extremely clean rooms. They actually clean the carpet after each checkout and when you request extra pillows, towels, etc., Housekeeping calls within 30 minutes to see if you have received the requested items. The grounds are immaculate with leaves being picked up each morning. The famed Marriott bedding is very luxurious. As you can tell, we love the place and look forward to going back each year.

We just returned from our 4th visit to Maui, and the first time we stayed at The Marriott Maui Ocean Club. The grounds are immaculate and the location can not be beat.

When we booked in May of 2010, we asked for a high floor. When we checked in we were given a room on the 2nd floor and were told that the high floors are reserved for the owners (as opposed to us, renting from an owner), and those that book at least a year out, not the short 8 months that we did.

We were really looking forward to eating at Longboards, one of our favorite dinner spots on Kaanapali Beach, however, this year we found the service to be sub-par. The first night the waiter left us waiting for our food for almost an hour. Albeit, Longboards isn't a bad place to have to wait, the waiter was so busy entertaining the other tables that he litterally forgot about us. Second night, different server: This guy had a negative comment for everything we said, whether it was where we are from, where we traveled to or the other places we ate on the island. He had nothing positive to say, it was odd.

Marriott Maui Ocean Club is a great place to stay, but they do need to improve service levels.

Dirtiest room we have ever stayed in at a Marriott timeshare. Toilet not cleaned popcorn kernels littered throughout the living room and dirty linen left under king size bed. Filthy kitchen cabinets, black mold around inside door of refrigerator and Central air conditioner thermostat broke after third day. Was temporarily repaired but had to be manually turned on and off for the last four days of our stay. Marriott staff was apologetic. Offered us some compensation but reneged on free week of Interval International saying they already exceeded their compensation limit of $170. and a changing room use of 3 hours prior to heading to the airport which was valued at $250.

The Assistant Manager told us, because the timeshare was totally booked there were no other rooms available to move us to. Additionally they were short of staff so perhaps that why the cleanliness was not up to par!

I am an owner of four Marriott timeshare properties and in the fifteen years as a owner, I have never stayed at a Marriott property run and maintained as poorly as the Marriott Maui Ocean Club. To make matters worse, we were traveling with another couple and we raved about how wonderful Marriott’s were. The couple was interested in purchasing a Marriott timeshare, however after seeing what we were going through, they decided to pass on Marriott and purchased two weeks from a different timeshare company.

Having purchased 2 weeks (one via REDWEEK), my wife and I are extremely satisfied. While the maintenance fees are a bit high, the grounds are impeccably landscaped and maintained (if you get up early enough you can see workers sweeping sidewalks, cleaning chairs, picking up cigarrette butts EVERYDAY). Our view (Oceanview...usually 4th floor or higher in the Molokai tower) is fantastic because you can see all of the beautiful landscaping and the ocean/beach as well. The resort is well situated (along the Kaanapali beach strip) and within walking distance to Whaler's village. The pools and slides are a great way to enjoy yourself (and we always see a few "party crashers" who can crowd the pools at times). My only complaint for the grounds is that they don't have a handle on chairs and thus you can find yourself searching for an empty chair in the middle of the day. As for the rooms, they are comfortable and fairly updated (my complaint here is that they should have a larger refrigerator). Overall though, this has to be one of the better maintained resorts in a good location (hence, their occupancy rate and their "owner return" rate is pretty high)! The pictures you see at their website are not fake -- it really looks this wonderful ! We last visited in July 2010.

Rented a 2 bedroom ocean front week of May 9th from Odette and Edgar S. at a very reasonable rate. Could not be more pleased with the rental transaction, resort hospitality, service and cleanliness. Lots of restaurants and shopping in walking distance at Whalers Village. The America Cup II sailing adventure was a blast, http://www.hawaiiactive.com/activities/maui-america-two.html and the Old Lahaina Luau is the best food and entertainment tradition on the island http://www.oldlahainaluau.com/photogallery.html.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom lockout March 2010. Loved it. The facilities are great. We also stayed one week at Marriotts Lahaina Villas which was very, very nice, but actually prefer this one because it had 3 bathrooms (although no kitchen). There are six of us, and we were very comfortable. Could easily have squeezed more in. We bought boogie boards at Kmart our first day and used them a lot. Loved this location, and we loved snorkeling at Black Rock every other day- so incredible and close! The whales were everywhere and you could hear them loudly while snorkeling. I would love to go again. There is good food in the area, although you can plan on waiting in line for restaurants at Whalers Village (make reservations; it's easier). Don't do the free historical tour offered by Marriott; the volunteer gave very little history but lots of his own philosophy of life. Best location, beach, pool, accomodations. Buy "Maui Revealed" tour book at Kmart. Great guide.

My Wife and I stayed at here in 2008 for 2 weeks. We had a 1 bedroom with pool view. The unit was very clean and nice. The grounds at Marriott are very well maintained. The pool is very very nice. The ocean is right out front. The staff is friendly. The room was very quiet!! And we had AC but did not use it.

The unit does not have an oven or offer any inroom cooking other than the microwave. But they do have barbeques and they are well manintained and in good working order. There is a little picnic area in front of the ocean with barbeques and tables. There is nothing better than a great day of activity, and great healthy ocean front meal with the right wine.

The Marriott also shows a movie outside on a few select nights. They provide enough seating for everyone and the shows are generally geared towards family movies.

The Marriott has a nice exercise facility with the typical exercise machines you would find in a typical heatlth club and has a stretching room also. It overs looks the pool area and ocean and so there are some nices views while you exercise.

The beach is fantastic to swim in and great for long walks on the beach or on the walk path.

If you arrive around 10:30pm Lahaina, worn out and hungry then please don't ask the staff where to eat. They had no idea!!!!!!!! When there was an open resturant in walking distance from the Marriott. I don't know if the young staff were lying or just plain ignorant.

So the only negative was that the room had an OLD tube tv. Mostly we don't watch TV on vacation but we do like to rent a movie or two when we are there for 2 weeks.

Overall a very memorable vacation and a good value.

Wow. We stayed here in August for a week. Six of us altogether in the new Towers. Absolutely loved it. We had an ocean view and our own pool. The main resort pool was great as well. I loved that all activities were right there at the resort. You never had to leave if you didn't want to. Great dining and adventures are also very close driving distance away. Recommend stopping at Costco on way from airport to stock up on essentials like water, coffee, liquor, milk and other staples as they really come in handy at a cheaper rate. There is a Safeway close by in case you forget anything. The little pantry market on the premises offers essentials too. The resort grounds are very well kept and the Lahaina Towers where we stayed is immaculate and fabulous. In a word, we will be back again and again. The beach right out front is great for snorkling and the "Black Rock" at the end of the hotel walkway is a fabulous experience for jumping in the water and finding sea turtles. The water/waves can be a little rough right off the hotel, but experiment with different areas along the beach to find just the right mix of fewer rocks, more sand, better snorkling, or whatever you're looking for.

Marriott is simply a name you can trust. Immaculately clean premises. Stellar employees. We have been annual visitors to Maui for 8 consecutive years. Our friends have been owners at the Marriott for 12 years and they invited us to view their unit. One glance and we were sold. We now vacation every year for 2 weeks. Incredible staff, beautiful surroundings, walking distance to Whaler's Village and a great, safe place for your children to experience an ALOHA vacation. Simply the best.

My family travels to Hawaii every year and we had always stayed just where ever we could get reservations for an affordable price, which usually ended up being about $300.00/night in an oceanview room at one of the outrigger hotels...... nothing great... hotel rooms, simple and nothing fancy or extra nice. about 4 yrs ago we came across The Maui Marriott on EBAY and we decided to rent a week for our stay in maui.... the rest is history. We own a timeshare in Daytona Beach Fl. and have not returned to it in 5 yrs. We spend 2-3 weeks in Maui every year now. Our kids love it at this resort and so do I. We have gotten to know the staff really well and look forward to spending time with them each yr. The guys at the pool and with the kids activities are the best. We do not own here, but we have been lucky enought o rent someone's weeks from them each time and once again, we are getting ready to spend a couple of weeks there in August with the kids! Redweek and Ebay are great places to look when you need a condo to rent! I give this resort 5 stars.... it may not be 100% perfect for everyone's likes... but it is for ours!!

We stayed here in June 2009. We were in the old building and it did look old. But the resort was fantastic and a good time for kids! The pool had slides, basketball, volleyball, and a pirate ship for the kids (but the little rocks around it did make it hard to walk in and hurt your feet!) But thankfully only the pirate ship had the annoying pebbles. It was not a problem to get a grill by the pool. We did the timeshare presentation and the new towers had wonderful rooms......we would book there if we come back again. The kids club did loan out sand toys and boogie boards and stuff for the kids which is nice, but they did not offer a drop off babysitting service which would have been nice! Instead you stay with your kids while they did a small project. We stayed at the Westin last June and they did half or whole day programs for the kids (for a fee) and they did the projects with the kids and took them to feed the koi fish and what not, so the parents could actually relax for a few hours! I wish the Marriott did this. I was told they did in the past but they did not have enough parents utilizing it.....maybe there is hope for the future, but call and ask first if you want any kid free time on your vacation. The resort activities were OK, but nothing to rave about. The food by the pool sucked! The restraunt by the beach was OK. Whalers villiage is any easy walk down the beach and had exellent food and drinks at Lailani's which is on the beach on the lower level and very casual and not over priced......Go there for good food near your resort. I would come back here again in a heart beat, but I probably would never buy a timeshare here b/c the studio side is nothing more then a hotel room! No washer/dryer in it and only a TINY fridge and microwave. (it literally sits in a cabinet.....barely a counter space at all!) That does not cut it in my book! The one bedroom is great, but you would not want to stay in the studio if you wanted to fix any food yourself! They do offer a free washer and dryer in the hall way to use if you stay in the studio and need to do laundry. The beach in front of the resort had small surfing waves the whole time we were there in June and you couldn't snorkel until you walked all the way down to black rock. It is walkable, but it was a very long walk in the sand! I was not willing to do that walk again without shoes with me! This area of Maui is the best and the resort here is just like a small paradise itself with beautiful landscaping and palm trees everywhere.

Just returned from first visit to Hawaii. Stayed for 2 weeks in Maui; first week at Marriott Ocean Club, second week at Westin Ocean Villas. I'll use a comparison as a review and a 1-10 rating.

Location: TIE (8) = 2 miles seperate the two properties and each have advantageous locations

Room: Westin (9) = occupied the single best unit at the Westin (2631/2630=top floor ocean front new building w/ largest balony) GET THIS ROOM if you can; at Marriott (6)stayed in Lanai (older converted hotel) 2 bed/3 bath...OK, but missed a full kitchen; If we had a new room at Marriott, I've a feeling that Westin would have lost out overall.

Grounds: Marriott (10) = Gorgeous park-like setting...stunning/lots of private areas around the pool with high-end umbrellas; Westin (7) was nice but felt like a resort...Westin pool chairs are so close you have NO privacy and there are very few chickies for which you have to hunt or go down at 730AM to attain

Outdoor grills: Marriott (10) = New VERY high end granite surrounded outdoor grills that are numerous and conveniently located-probably cost over $10K for each pair. Westin (7) nice, but more like a built in outdoor home type gas grill as opposed to Marriotts professional grade

Beach: Marriott (7) = The beach directly at Marriott is nice, but further down toward Sheraton it is very nice; Westin (5) = Nice to look at but unusable due coral. [As reference, we've traveled extensively throughout the carribean and typically vacation in Aruba which would score a (10) for beach quality]

Luxury feeling: Westin (8) High end products and service abound-nothing feels cheap except the beach towels; Marriott (7)...felt like a Marriott.

Service (front desk/restaurants/shops/bellman/valet): Westin (9) = VERY professional upscale service; very responsive. Marriott (7) felt like a Marriott.

Housekeeping: Westin/Marriott (4). Both resorts have subpar housekeeping standards. Each have a 1 time per week cleaning; When the sofa bed was opened the previous occupants bedding was still in place and very unkempt; Marriott had mold on the shower curtain and between some shower tiles; Westin had hairballs on shower floor; Westin housekeeping made the bed and left some toiletries...no towels replaced, nothing else done. Very disappointed with housekeeping at both properties and both felt somewhat dirty. Would not purchase from either for this fact alone. Our timeshare in Aruba (CLBR) has housekeeping 6 days per week and on the 7th day (Sunday) towels are replaced...and costs far less (albeit a somewhat older property) than either of these properties but still maintains a far superior beach with great service.

Recap. We had a nice time at both resorts and would probably return, but Maui would not be our first choice for destination.

Super pool opened Wednesday! All very nice, more lounge chairs and some nice updates. Plenty of room with all three pools open, not hard to find chairs. The old towers are getting a facelift with the newer leaf design to match the newer towers, it really looks good. Beautiful property and the beach has tons of sand this year.

We stay in the Lahaina Tower at this Marriott location in one of the Ocean View Studio rooms. It was just the right size for my wife and I. I think if we had our kids with us, it would have been uncomfortable. We stayed at the end of April and first of May 2009. The main Marriott pool was under construction since it is kind of off season. It didn't make much of a difference to us since we prefer the ocean activities and seeing the island more than sitting at a pool while in Heaven. When we were in our room though, we love it. Hi quality materials used in the rooms, very nice view, new and safe feeling. Parking is a little harder than it seems like it should be. There is a lack of sufficient parking (and we were there in the off season). I have noticed this at most Marriott properties.

      5 stars for me.

The highlight of our trip was a night out to Mamas Fish House in Paia. Best food in Maui. A little pricey but well worth it. Check it out!!

We just returned from a wonderful week at Marriott's Ocean Club. The location is excellent, it is easy to walk to a variety of restaurants. We brought our two children and they loved the pool and the Marriott children's program (MAZE) program (crafts, games by the pool, movie by the beach). We own at Hyatt and had never stayed at a Marriot property before, but really loved it. We never had a problem finding a chair or getting into a restaurant, but that may change once the new tower opens in a few weeks (adding 300+ rooms). Overall, a great property. We will go back. As an aside, we found a fantastic photographer, Steve Slater (you can google him). He came to the property and took family pictures for us at sunset on the beach. I was very pleased with his work and highly recommend him.

We purchased a 2 BR oceanview unit in 2001 and have been there 5 times since. The main building is comprised of converted hotel rooms and isn't as pretty as the new towers, but the bedrooms are larger, with a sleep sofa and room for roll-aways, so you have more room for sleeping more family. We don't want to eat dinner in when we're in Maui (there's too many fantastic restaurants!), so not having a full kitchen is okay with us. You do have microwave and 2 small refrigerators, so we had plenty of room for drinks and snacks or lunch items. There is an amazing amount of activities and sights to see, and the staff has always been great. The whole property is beautiful and I can't imagine your family not having a great time.

A very nice family resort. You can stay there on that side of the island all week. Plently of activiities to do. The pool is very wonderful. Big and the beach front is small. The rooms are nicely appointed. They will give you a roll away bed if needed. Parking is a structure. A great location and great snorkling beaches near-by.

The best hotel conversion I have seen. Much, much, much more attractive and plush than the Kauai Beach Club, which was a rather mediocre conversion at best. However, the laundry facilities are on the first floor, not even on every floor, which can be a problem. Rooms are large and comfortable. Ocean and pool views are great. The staff is very good. The location is great. We owned a one-bedroom ocean view here but recently upgraded to ocean front units in the new Lahaina Tower, which are absolutely exquisite.

We seem to return to Maui Ocean Club every year. It is just like going to a second home. This is great timeshare resort! Right on the beach . Marriott converted this property to a timeshare from one of their highly rated hotels. The advantage is the extra services, restaurant, and shops that are located right on site. It is a short drive to the historic town of Lahana and enjoyable walk on the beach to other shops and resaurants in Whaler's Village. Trade winds can be brisk at times. We always have a great time and hate to leave.

We have been returning to the Maui Marriott for about six years. We have always had a wonderful time there. The pool is fantastic and the pool staff is very friendly. We never have had a problem with pool police, although I do believe it would be easy to sneak into the pool due to it's close proximity to the beach.

The rooms are comfortable, although I must admit I wish there was a washer/dryer in the room. It was a pain lugging clothes from our tower to the next, but it certainly didn't hinder our fun. We purchased our unit when the hotel was converted to a timeshare and that didn't stop us . We don't miss not having a full kitchen, because we enjoy eating at the restaurants on site and at Whaler's Village.

My teenage son loved the scuba program and proudly shows his scuba certification card he earned while there. He loved swimming with the giant sea turtles.

All in all, we don't regret our timeshare purchase and look forward to going there again.

I have owned at this resort for 6 years and stayed there often. The staff is friendly and helpful, the grounds are immaculate and the amenities are first class. The pool is the best I've ever seen. The resort is right on the beach where you will find a paved walk leading to the Whaler's Village shopping/dining. You can walk across the street to the golf course. This resort is convenient to any activity you may want to enjoy and the concierge can arrange it for you.

Beware the lockout/guest room. It is very small. the owner should properly identify it as a "0" bedroom ( another hint is only 1 bathroom). Always, always use Redweek's escrow service. Terms are more restrictive, but it protects both parties. Unfortunately some owners ruin it for everybody Beware the owner - "German Emperor"

The property and resort area are excellent. Find your way to the fitness centre - it is modern, clean, convenient and rarely used and open to guests 24 hrs.

The Maui Marriott is an excellent resort. Yes, they are converted Hotel Rooms but why do you come to Maui anyway.......to stay in the room? Even so, the rooms have been tastefully converted and accessorized and with the exception of full cabin cooking, they serve most guests very well.

The two-bedroom ocean view rooms are great with plenty of room. We have six people from teenagers on up and there was plenty of space even when we were all in the room. Ocean Views from this resort look across the ocean expanse to the island of Lanai. Awesome. We own a two bedroom Ocean View unit in the existing building and like it so much that we purchased an additional one of the new two bedroom tower units.

The pool area is argueably the best in Kanapali with excellent resort service as well as a very tropical feel. With it's excellent accomodations and location as well as the world renown Marriott Service, the Maui Ocean Club is one of the best resorts on Maui.

We own here and absolutely love it! The grounds are imaculate, the staff top-notch, and the units gorgeous and roomy.

I'm always confused when people buy a unit and then complain about a part of it, such as the previous writer. We bought knowing the kitchen was not a full kitchen, so how could we now say it is a negative. It's only a negative if you wanted a full kitchen and you didn't research what you were buying. I've also never seen the "pool police" so I question how many guests this party had at the resort.

The Beachwalk Market and Pantry has wonderful food at excellent prices and you get a table right on the oceanfront! The staff at the resort are friendly and helpful - couldn't ask for better. The pool is fantastic, with many different types of pools for different ages, including a play ship with a sand bottom for the little ones, somewhat like a jungle gym in a pool.

We own Marriott on Kauai and at Marriott's Grand Ocean on Hilton Head as well as here at the Maui Marriott - we love them all! When you own Marriott ocean front, you can't ask for more!

For those who want to know what this resort is really like, read only the five star reviews - the rest are probably written by people who see the cup as half empty rather than half full.

We rented a l bedroom 2 bathroom ocean view unit directly from the Marriott. We needed only one night because we had a reservation at the Westin Villas starting 11-4- 06 but our week at the Embassy ended on 11- 3-06, however I booked 2 nights so we would have a place to stay between Marriott’s check out time of 10:00 AM and Westin’s check in time at 4:00 PM. We enjoyed our stay so much we ended up staying both nights and into the late afternoon on the 5th! (Got the “keys” from the Westin around 1:00PM on the 4th but never stayed there that first night) At first I was disappointed when we were given a unit on the 2nd floor until I opened the door. Our unit was in the Molokini tower one unit away from being ocean front with a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. I could have thrown a rock and hit a wave! The unit was just refurbished and we were the first people to use it. Mike the bellman went out of his way to get us checked in early and we had a lot of stuff (food, drink etc.) because we had just come from a week at the Embassy. Everything was new. The colors were bold and tropical on the walls and the furniture had a tropical theme as well. The lanai was deeper than some due to our location on the 2nd floor and we really enjoyed listening to the crashing waves when we were out there. They installed radius shower rods so you have a little more room in the tub/shower combo in the bathrooms and they now have a very large round shower head as well. To only real negative in the bathroom is no fan. The bathrooms are compact but the slab granite vanity top is wall to wall so there is a lot of counter space. We had a new “Revive” (sp) bed but it was too hard for both my husband and me. In 2004 the bed was perfect. The kitchenette has a sink, dishwasher, microwave and small refrigerator. I really thought the Westin did a much better job with their kitchenettes (on the studio side) than the Marriott but it was a non issue for us. We never had any trouble getting chairs and the pool was fantastic and we had LOTS of fun in the pool. My husband played water volleyball and had a great time and met some really nice people. Everyone we met there was very nice, from the staff to the guests. One of the women working at the Beach walk café even remembered my M-I-L from our last visit in 2004. We ate at all the restaurants, Beach walk for breakfast, Va Bene for dinner and appetizer’s and cocktails at Nalu’s. The prime rib buffet on Friday night was very good. My husband and our son had the buffet and my M-I-L and I both ordered the small plate of linguini with basil and tomatoes and a salad and it was very good and not small at all, except the price of $6.00 for the pasta dish and $6.00 for the salad. My son could not believe the chocolate fountain at the dessert station. You have never seen a kid eat dinner so fast! The breakfast at the Beach walk café though not fancy was just fine. Except for my husband we all ordered kids breakfasts and ate at the tables there next to the beach. My husband and I had appetizers and cocktails at the sushi bar Nulu’s and it was very good. They had an entertainer there playing music and the sunset that night was amazing! You could see the construction from Nulu’s but everyone was done for the day and it was very quiet. I never heard any construction noise so it was not an issue for us. I imagine it would be an issue if your unit was overlooking the construction. We walked along the beach path each evening, laid in the hammocks listened to the ocean and just drank everything in. We hated to leave and wished we could have spent the rest of our vacation there. The feel and location of this resort suits our family and any future vacations to Maui will be at the Marriott.

I have to agree with the rater that stated they could not believe the good reviews that have been posted. This was probably the worst room I have stayed in at any timeshare much less a marriott. Marriott should have left it a hotel and upgraded it. Maybe the new buildings will be better but anyone staying in these rooms that are use to a typical Marriott timeshare will be disappointed.

We stayed here for a week in July. I'm already planning my trip back for the summer of 2007. This timeshare is one of the best. The staff is great. The food is good. The rooms are very nice and quite large. We shared with 4 adult women and 1 child and no one was in anyone else's way. The elevators are a bit slow, but so what - who is in a rush in Maui anyway? I'm just hoping another exchange comes through for my family this year. Will go back every year if I can.

Pool: Great! Lounge chairs always available!

Beach: Need water shoes to go in the ocean due to large rocks in the water. No beach chairs or beach to relax on - too narrow in front of hotel.

Easy walk to Whaler's Village which offers nice shops and restaurants.

Resort: Just okay - terrible elevators, although they will be repaired by 11/06. Ugly carpet in the hallways (which I cannot even believe really bothered me, but it was that ugly/dirty) Room was fine. No problem with construction noise during our stay.

Request MOLAKI Tower as the current construction is on the opposite side of the resort!

This is a top notch resort and seems to be the best timeshare in the Kannapali area. Whales were visible daily, the beach is pristine, the mulitple pools, waterfalls, and water slide provide the best pool area in Kannapali (we walked it all and took several time share presentations).

The exercise room is brand new, large, and offers a view of pool and ocean. The barbeque area is somewhat secluded on a golf-course type lawn, and has up-scale tables (again, the best we saw at Kannapali). Wireless internet and many movie channels at no charge.

The 3 restaurants provide a nice variety from food-court style, to Japanese-sushi style, to upscale (hint: try the crab leg buffet!).

We stayed here with 2 children and a friend, making a total of 5 and were comfortable (3 full baths is a great feature).

The only hard part is facing check out time!

We have been owners at the Maui Ocean Club for a couple of years. We loved it so much that we sought them out so we could buy a week. Well on our trip this past February, we decided to buy more weeks because we were so pleased with the service, the amenities, the quality and the atmosphere. We are now owners in the new Lahaina Towers which is under construction. These new villas have everything the existing ones don't including full-size kitchen, in unit washer and dryer, oversize jacuzzi tub, and large lanai for outside dining.

Of course we love the pool. Our children are 7 and 5, good swimmers, but they still need supervision. This pool is the best. They could play while we sat at the poolside bar and relaxed. We stayed at the Grand Wailea, also during this past trip. The pool there is loads of fun, but for the age of our children we enjoyed the Maui Ocean Club pool more. We didn't have to be in the pool with them all the time. Although we certainly enjoyed the waterfalls, waterslide and spas.

Of course now that we are own 12-weeks there, yes 12-weeks, we would recommend the Maui Ocean Club to anyone. What you get for the money is so much better than the Ritz (we've stayed there too), the Grand Wailea (we paid $400.00 per night for a simple room with king bed and roll aways for the kids) and the Hyatt next door (yes we've stayed there as well).

With the new construction the resort will be everything that a resort vacationer could want.

We love this resort. (We have been owners for about 5 years.)

The pool is the best for families in Maui. It has a slide and a great kids pool. The pool attendants do a great job.

Although the resort is a converted hotel, the kitchenettes are good enough. Who wants to stay in every day and not enjoy the great food Maui has to offer. We actually ate most often at the Marriott's eating places. We found the food outstanding and probably one of the best deals on the island. At the pool market grill, they actally have great food at good prices for Maui. Example: the thick Marriott burger is $9.00 (with fries). If you go to the Westin be prepared to pay $14.00. Again, I think the value is there. They also have refillable nlimited)Starbucks/soda mugs for $23.00 for the duration of your stay. (This is a deal for a week stay

Again, the pool is great, food is great, and room is nice.

The negatives...no full size kitchen (but who cares in Maui), and the beach can erode during some months, but all is well within walking distance.

At this hotel, you really don't need a car, because everything you need is there or within walking distance to Whalers Village.

Summary: If you are a family (especailly with young ones), like the idea of lounging at the pool, and enjoy fun Marriott family food...this is the place.

      Enjoy!

Year after year we look forward to our two weeks at this resort. The staff is as friendly as can be and with little turn over there's a good chance they'll greet you by name if you're an owner.

The rooms that were converted about 5 years ago from hotel rooms have both advantages and disadvantages. Granted it would be nice to have a washer/dryer in the unit and a full kitchen but for a week or two of vacation the refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher do just fine. On the plus side you get an enormous master bedroom and 3 full bathrooms in the 2 bedroom suites and the same master with 2 full baths in the one bedroom suites.

The room renovations are getting started and should be completed by the end of the year as the Marriott's committment to owners is to update them every 5 years.

Hard to understand how a previous writer had such an unfortunate experience with the way they were treated at the pool with guests. My guests have been welcomed even at the busiest times of the year. I find that the staff goes out of their way to accomodate.

The new tower is going to be a great addition but the pool that this property has will be hard to beat with it's kid's area pirate ship, slide and expansive shallow end with wide steps to wade on.

Don't let one persons bad experience stop you from coming to this wonderful family destination.

My first question is "Did I stay at the same place as these other reviewers?! Where do I begin?

If you're familiar with the Marriott hotel brand and expect to experience that level of accomodations and service, forget it. This is an old 1970's hotel which was converted to timeshare. Marriott took two rooms and joined them into suites. That fact is obvious the moment you enter the place. You can tell the interior designer's hands were tied behind their backs because it wasn't built to be a timeshare.

The slow elevators and prison-esque inside balcony/walkways are the first clue this is a less-then-hoped-for experience. They are void of any interest. They need some color... maybe hibiscus murals or something. You can easily imagine the doors as prison cell doors and convicts throwing down toilet paper from the walkways. The place is reminescent of 1970's motels. It brought back memories of driving down to Florida as a kid.

OK, interior design and room layout is subjective. I personally hated it, but one thing we all can agree on is the lack of a washer/dryer in the room is unforgiveable in a big name hotel timeshare these days.

In the pool area, there are simply not enough lounge chairs for the guests and no room to add more. They desparately need a system to stop people from laying claim to a chair in the early hours of the morning and never releasing it. More than half the chairs were empty for extended periods of time. The only way to get a chair is to remove someone's property and hope you're picking one of the offender's chairs and not someone that just went to the bathroom.

The pool police are constantly asking people if they belong there. G-d forbid you go down into the pool without proper ID. This was mildly irritating because they should have been more discrete. Nothing blows the mood than overhearing people talk in official tones to other people.

It became aggravating after we befriended a family from another resort and invited them to come by for some drinks and let the kids play together. Their kids were unwelcome in the pool and our new friends were unwelcome in the lounge chair area. Never mind that my family were guests and they were our friends. Never mind that more than half the chairs are empty (well... let's call them unoccupied). Management didn't care... our friends HAD TO GO. The awful part was the tone they used with us and our guests. Marriott was not gracious at all. A polite explaination would have sufficed. Instead, we were made to feel like criminals. For Pete's sake, the kids weren't stealing the pool, they were simply trying to enjoy it. We all packed up and followed them back to their resort on the other end of Ka'anapali where we were made to feel like welcomed guests. What a difference some class makes!

The Marriott Vacation Club people bug the heck out of you to take their timeshare tour. They catch you inside as well as out on the boardwalk. I suggest you walk fast and look the other way when approaching these kiosks. We finally gave in for 15000 points. During the presenation they admit that the current building was not "purpose built" for timeshare and leaves a lot of guests wanting. The new buildings (haven't broken ground yet) sound much better, offering all the amenities one would expect from a big hotel name timeshare. A BIG difference from what they currently offer.

Sorry for being blunt, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I liked. I wouldn't even call this a Marriott. I know Marriotts. I've stayed at Marriotts. This is no Marriott.

We won't be vacationing here again. Maybe after the new buildings go up, but never again in the existing buildings.

We spent five days at the MMOC Resort. It is a first class operation. We were treated exceptionally well. The ocean front room was well furnished and the views were breathtaking. I cannot say enough positive about this place

We stayed at the Ocean club with 5 children in March. We watched baby humpback whales breaching off of our balcony nearly every day. The pool area is breathtakingly beautiful snd the poolside grill was great for a fast lunch before wandering to the multitude of activities near the Kaanapali beach area. We enjoyed our stay so much, we're headed back again! We highly recommend this resort.

Snorkeling off the beach at Black Rock just beyond the hotel is fabulous and doesn't cost a penny. Snorkeling at the Molokini Crater was great. Whaler's village is a fun shoping area within easy walk of the resort. Lahaina, a neat little village is just down the road and a shuttle is available if you don't like to drive, we prefer a rental car.

We went to the Marriott's luau which was very good and even the Kids really liked the food and the entertainment. The resort was not crowded and there was plenty of room by the pool to relax although the chairs were placed very close together.

The rooms were once hotel rooms but have been tastefully converted and feel much more like a resort. Huge guest laundry is on the first floor, kitchenettes in the 2 bedroom unit was very adequate and the smaller sized refridgerator could hold a lot of stuff!

Aloha and enjoy your stay, we loved it, full 5 stars.

This is a beautiful resort. The rooms are converted hotel rooms but are very nice and VERY updated. We have stayed in one of the villas with 4 adults and 3 children and haven't had any problems. The pool is really nice and great for all ages. We owned two ocean front/ 2 bedrooms timeshares here and are very happy with them. The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful with any problems that might come up. We have stayed at many of the Marriotts and this up there with the best. We come here atleast 2 or 3 times a year.

The Monday night owner's party is a great way to meet other owner's and to hear about other properties. We own other Marriott timeshares and this is still our favorite.

      Recommend this resort to anyone.

I really thought that this was the place I wanted to stay. Unfortunately I was wrong. Our July 2004 stay was not up to the level we expected after staying at many MVCI properties.

The converted hotel rooms are sizeable but still not up to the new Marriott standard of timeshare property. The property admittedly has more guests than poolside chairs available. Definitely check the occupancy level when you go here to make sure they are not at capacity. The early morning sea of empty "reserved" seats makes it impossible to find a chair unless you remove the personal items left by squatters.

The overallfeeling at this property left us tense. We have been to many large properties and still not felt the overcrowding that happens here. As busy as this place was we felt uncomfortable about our childrens safety.

It seems that the management at this property is not at the same level as many of the other Marriott properties we have visited. After 3 days into our 1 week stay we left. When I told the management that we were leaving early and tried to tell them why they we not at all interested.

Thankfully I did not buy a week here as I thought I wanted to. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this is not the place to get it.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it so much that we bought a time share! The convience to the best attractions are here! Whalers Village, the beaches, Old Lahaina and the most awesome drives ever! The Marriott has excellent customer service. The rooms are being updated and will be even better next year (2005). The pool area is absolutely awsome.....I spent several days by the pool alone. Definetly consider this resort. It has just enough frills to keep you happy and comfortable, but not too much to make it stuffy or uncomfortable....... relax....at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club!

We stayed here again in October of 2004 and loved every minute of it. Rooms are beautifully updated, staff is ultra-friendly and the location is ideal for a truly outstanding vacation. The pool area is exceptionally well done, with lots of lounges available and poolside bar & meal service. It even has a waterfall and slide for the young and young at heart.

There are lots of restaurants, shopping and activities within walking distance. Marriott has a first class operation and their reputation is well deserved. We plan to be coming back again and again.

Stayed at this resort in September 2004 and found it to be magnificent in every way. Very convenient to Whaler's Village with all the shops and restaraunts (all within walking distance). If you stay at this resort you don't neccessarily need a rental car as most attractions are within walking distance.

I highly recommend this resort and look forward to my next stay.

The time share units that we own (2 bedroom ocean view) are designed with the classic Marriott touch. Marble entry, granite counter in the kitchen area, lovelyl fabrics, heavy draperies, sound-proofing between units, excellent beds, very good bedding, first quality coverlets on bed, top-notch kitchen appliances. The pool area is breathtaking.

The Black Rock in front of the Sheraton has one of the best snorkeling/swimming beaches on Maui. It is a 10-15 minute walk down the beach. Along the way to the beach you pass Whaler's Village with its great restaurant choices and shops. For couples or families, everything is accessible by walking or using the shuttle. It isn't necessary to drive to have a super time at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club. I would rate it a 4.5 stars.

We are also owners at Marriott's Desert Springs. We have stayed in Marriott hotels all over the world and consider Maui Ocean Club an excellent value.

I've stayed at several different resorts on several different Islands. The Marriott Maui Ocean Club is one of the best! The pool alone offers a variety of experiences for the whole family! The restaraunts are top quality and the Marriott hosts one of the island's best Luaus.

Just returned from this 5 star property. This is my fourth year there, and first as an owner in the timeshare program. I can't say enough good things about it. The lei greeting upon arrival represented a beginning to an excellent week. The maintenance staff is doing an great job keeping up the grounds, and the beach seemed wider than I ever remember in the past. Excellent whale watching even from the shore! Highly recommended ******!

Marriott's Maui Ocean Club is a beautiful resort that I look forward to returning to. It has everything a 5 star resort should have. I especially enjoyed the massage on the beach. What a treat! It is wonderful for families, as it has activities for children as well as a children's pool with waterslides. Also, I can really appreciate the laundry room facilities. It can also be a great place for couples only, as the grounds are spacious enough to find a quiet spot. Water activities/sports are a great way to enjoy your time at the Marriott.

The restaurants and shopping in nearby Lahaina are unending. It's a cute little town with lots of charm. There is so much to do without having to travel too far. I look forward to my next visit in April! Thanks Marriott!!

In a word, I think that as a Marriott timeshare owner and traveller, I've become spoiled. Although this is a Marriott flagged property, it's not a true thoroughbred Marriott vacation property that you might typically rate at 5 stars.

The Marriott Club in Maui is, in a word, suffering from faded elegance. 10 or 20 years ago, this resort would knock your socks off, in 2003, this resort is simply average. The rooms in particular are weak. Converted from old hotel rooms years ago--the minute you walk in the door you realize that you're not really staying at a timeshare, per se, but rather a converted hotel room. An older hotel room, at that. Linens, curtain, carpets and colors were all fading from years of wear. Elevators are old, slow and unforgiving. I think I hadn't been in elevators that old since the 1970's.

That's not to say, however, that this resort is bad. It's not. In fact, the central Kannapalli location is terrific. It's really ideal for families with small to medium sized children. I have to give kudos to the large multilevel waterfall and grotto strewn pool area--it's well done (if you're a kid).

Couples and singles: stay away. You'll feel like you're in a timewarp as you rub elbows with mom, dad and the grandfolks at the weekly 'timeshare welcome' monday night free drinks party. Families: come one and come all. The Marriott grocery store and fresh cook grille by the pool is a lifesaver for always hungry children, the property is immensely safe and right on the ocean (although there is no actual ocean swimming here, too many rocks and corals, I dont think I ever saw anyone actually in the ocean as opposed to the huge pool area).

Many day trips are also easily accessible from this A+ location. Only 40 minutes drive to the airport. You will absolutely need a rental car.

Resort is beautifully maintained and is located on the fabled Kaanapali Beach. Timeshare units are converted hotel rooms, which makes them a bit goofy, but nice. New 3-1/2 acre pool is just a big 3-1/2' deep wading pool, swell for people under age 9. Ocean beach is marked by coral heads, so swimming is dicey. But you can drive to better beaches.

Magnificent multi level pool right on famous Kanaapali Beach on Maui, the paradise island. Three excellent restaurants on site, as well as the best luau. Units are spacious, luxuriously decorated, two full baths, two balconies and a kitchenette.

This is an outstanding resort and Marriott's injection of millions of dollars into the pool area and rooms certainly shows. Couldn't give this a higher recommendation.
