Great place to take the family. Great golf course, and lots to keep the younger kids busy for awhile. Resort amenities are abit dated, but tons of living space and lots of room outside to play. No stairs anywhere. The area has alot to offer, but most are day trips and not alot nearby.
Check out the rails to trails in howard, its a great place to run/bike.

We spent a week at the resort in October. Beautiful scenery in a wonderful area. Just touring the Amish sights, shopping, and the Longaberger basket factory kept us busy. You do need a car to get around the area. Sights can be a good 20 minutes to an hour drive to get there, but they are worth the trip. The resort is very spacious, large hot tub, & fireplace. Nice romantic quiet getaway!
The resort staff was very friendly and helpful. They do need to work on giving you more information about things to see and do. There is plenty to do here but you have to look for them.

Just went out to Apple Valley Resort in June of 2004, BEAUTIFUL resort, located right next to a PGA golf course. The units are well kept, and very large, with 2 bed, 2 bath, and a large room with just a hot tub (IN YOUR UNIT). Family oriented, very good rates for golf for owners, and managed by a family. They cater to your every needs, which includes the following :
- $ 1 rentals of movies (what a bargain) - free dinner social one night at the outdoor pool. - Nice small resort, with B-Ball court, shuttleboard, activity room for crafts, full time activity director on staff, great info on area events at desk.
To sum it up a gold mine resort, and the only timeshare resort in Ohio !!!!

The resort has 31 units, all large (1400 square foot, 130 square meters) 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with a hot tub in its own room. Each unit is on one level, and all are on the ground floor. Each unit has a well-equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. The units have a large- screen TV with VCR, and stereo with built-in speakers in every room. I was told that they will soon have a second TV in the master bedroom. I understand that the TV's had been delivered, but not the stands to set them on. Each unit also has two decks, with a gas grill on the one off the kitchen.
The maintenance seemed to be good, and the unit had been well cleaned when we checked in.
The resort manager lives on-site in one of the units, and the staff was very friendly and responsive.
The resort has limited on-site amenities. These include an outdoor pool, basketball court, facilities for volleyball and shuffleboard, and a playground for the younger children. The resort had a full schedule of activities, mostly crafts, at the office/activities building. Other activities of note were the Saturday morning orientation, a cheese tasting on Sunday afternoon, and a cookout on Tuesday evening.
The resort was originally part of a major real estate development which includes a private man-made lake among other features. This development has a property owners association that owns and maintains several facilities such as beaches, an indoor pool, tennis courts, boat launch, etc, for the private use of their members. Passes that allow people staying at the resort to use these amenities, all within 3 miles (5 km) of the resort, may be purchased.
Off-site, there is an excellent 18 hole golf course with very reasonable fees nearby - the golf course's clubhouse is separated from the resort's office/activities building by a parking lot.
This is a good resort for couples and families who just want to sit back and relax. If you like the bright lights and partying, this resort is not for you.
