Enjoy all that exciting New Orleans has to offer from your vacation home at Rue Esplanade. Situated on the edge of the famous French Quarter, you'll be right in the heart of the excitement. The intimate property is comprised of two restored Greek Revival townhouses that date back to the 1830s. The property has maintained its historical significance and is a restoration, not a renovation project. Rue Esplanade features the quintessential example of antebellum Creole townhomes. While all suites are very large, some are formal (14 foot ceilings, cornices, and ceiling medallions), while others are located in the charming and rustic servants quarters. Some suites are accessed by tall staircases; there are no elevators.

We absolutely love it here; you can hear the clip-clop of the carriages but none of the craziness of the Quarter. Very quiet yet close to everything.
Historic buildings date from the 1830's and are being carefully restored. Units are quite comfortable and are very large and each unit is unique; some have plank floors, exposed brick, wood beams, four poster beds but the feeling is very down south no matter which unit you're in as we've stayed in many.
Management is very informative about the area and won't steer you wrong. Not suitable for children which suits us just fine.
