Tina was right. I used to OWN 7 units at the Summit. If your unit number is a low number (ie, unit 601 is on the 6th floor, unit #1, unit 1402 is on the 14th floor, unit #2)...if your unit is a low number, you will not sleep for the constant "beat" of the noise (music). If you are lucky enough to have a high unit # (xx34, for example, is at the far end) you will be ok.
My units were, unfortunately, all low numbers. Many times my rental guests requested to be moved to the other end of the building, strickly because of the noise. Actually, the "boom, boom, boom" is worse than the music itself.
Otherwise, the Summit is a really nice place.

Nice place but if your a timeshare you are are not treated the same as a owner. CHECK IN IS AT 4 PM AND NOT 3:39. They would not let me check in 20 min. early even when the room was ready.

I do not know where Tina(reviewer) stayed....but obviously not at the same summitt that we visit every year and have for the last 7 years. We visit this resort every 4th of July "WITH" our three children and have loved each visit. We do not attend the bars which are located close to this resort, and you "CAN NOT" hear the music, etc. coming from these clubs unless you are sleeping outside....and I don't think very many of the human population choose to sleep on the beach when we have a cozy bed waiting for us. So, please do not let this one person's rating of the Summitt persuade your idea of this resort.....It truly is one of the very best resorts in Panama City that brings return guests each and every year!!!!It is a family friendly resort with all the ammenities you could possibly need. You must try it to see for yourself. After one visit, you will definitely keep returning!!!!!

This resort has continued to be upgraded on an annual basis and is in the best condition it has been in for several years!
The "snow bird" winter regulars also enjoy their stays and planned activities!
The golf course is just a block away!
You'll enjoy your visit!

My family and I found this resort to be completely horrible. Please do not make the mistake of coming to this resort during spring break, or anytime of the year for that matter. Two of the largest SUPER-sized bar/clubs are located right next door to this resort. This means that until they closed at 4:30am, our walls shook to the beat of the music next to us.
If you were lucky enough to get a room on the other side of the resort, the noise level could have been acceptable. The guest staff was unwilling to help us find a quieter room. We were forced to check out 5 days early!
On the other hand, the rooms were large and the beach was beautiful. Just go here when you're young and without kids!

Nice, extremely huge resort with immaculate and beautiful grounds in a great location. The one bedroom (sleeps 6) units with bunks in the hallway are bigger than most one bedroom condos we've stayed in. All balconies face the beautiful gulf waters (views are to die for), two pools (one heated), two outdoor jacuzzis and one huge indoor jacuzzi room and indoor heated pool. Restaurant and snack bar on grounds (open in season) 24 hour security gate.
