In nearly 20 years of timeshare ownership, this was probably our most memorable and nicest exchange. Don't let comments from users of the smaller units at this property dissuade you from exchanging in or renting a week here. We had a one-bedroom which was more than adequate for the two of us, and with the sofabed would've been fine for 4. The bathroom was nicely appointed with mirrors all around and good lighting. No airconditioning, but the thoughtful resort staff have provided a portable floor fan that can be used throughout the room, we used it in the bathroom area. We peeked into one of the murphy bed rooms (sleep 2) next door and it was definitely smaller but had a nice large kitchen and the same bath we had. The bed in our suite was the BEST we've ever had at a timeshare resort. Simmons Beautyrest World Class. Just terrific. The linens were wonderful, high thread count and soft, and the pillows were REAL feather pillows, and there were a ton of them. SOOOOOOOOOOOO COMFORTABLE, we looked forward to the bed every night after climbing the hills of the surrounding area. I can't say enough about the wonderful Concierge service at this resort. Henry was the BEST concierge we've ever had, and he's a wealth of knowledge about all things San Francisco. As for the cable cars being busy, YES, you are in the middle of the cable car line on Nob Hill, they come up from Union Square with a full load, but as long as you are willing to go 2 at a time or to stand for a couple of stops until more folks leave at Chinatown, you can get onto most cars all day or night. Make sure NOT to bring a car when staying at this resort - YOU DON'T NEED IT - and the parking will cost more than the car rental. Buy the 7-day pass for the Muni and cable cars, we got around fine to all parts of the City and Henry can get you all the bus and cable car info on transfers, etc. Eat at Cafe Mozart, Uncle Vito's, and the City View Restaurant for Dim Sum in Chinatown. You'll thank me later! The afternoon wine and cheese is a very nice touch and although not elaborate, it's a great little snack to enjoy. Free internet at a nice high speed is available in the lobby in case you don't bring your laptop - but wireless is available in all the rooms as well. Overall, if you can walk a hill or two, don't require handicapped access and can live without your car for a week, you are going to LOVE this charming little secret of San Francisco!

Truly excellent concierge staff! Very clean. Great location. Stay here for those reasons alone!
But, if you must quibble...
Decor is a pleasing, if slighly strange, mix of bona fide antiques with 1980's fixtures and appliances, and of course a smattering of newer electronics (e.g. alarm clocks)
Bathroom and Kitchen fixtures are a bit dated (1980s) but work well. TVs in the rooms are on the quite small side and rather low to the ground to accommodate the furniture. A true kitchen with full sized everything. We cooked several meals in the room; two small groceries are a block away.
Bed not quite as comfortable as some I have slept on in other hotels, but is more than adequate.
Wireless internet was spotty in the rooms, but great in the lobby. They have one computer in the lobby if you don't bring your laptop.
Most rooms good-sized and low noise levels by San Francisco city standards (a few people might feel the rooms are too small or noisy, but they would probably feel that way in most B&Bs in SF).
Overall, highly recommended!

We have been owners at the Suites since 1990, and I couldn't believe the first "review" that I saw posted here! First of all, this timeshare is called the SAN FRANCISCO SUITES....NOT Worldmark San Francisco Suites. It is a 52-week RED time period and rated 5 star by Interval International. It is a Victorian building that dates back almost 100 years. There are only 16 or 17 rooms.
The rooms and the lobby are small, intimate, and elegant. There is also a nice breakfast room, a lighted gazebo on the roof, wine and delicious cheese and pepper jelly available late afternoon, brandy by the fire in the evening, and turn-down service provided. Grace Cathedral is right up the hill and Union Square is right down the hill. One can catch the cable car just outside the door. Nearby are wonderful restaurants, plays, museums, clubs, and millions of things to do. We & our friends love it!! P.S. Listed under "Features & Amenities," it states there is a bar and restaurant on- site. Not as far as I know:) However, there are MANY near by.

This "resort" is a hotel and nothing more. The room we stayed in had a living area with a murphy (pull- down) bed, a kitchenette and a bathroom. It had no view whatsoever (windows face the next building about five feet away) and the ventilation of this no A/ C unit was over the staff smoking area. Requests for minor repairs or for one extra towel were ignored or required reminders. Facility is on a steep hill and has no wheelchair accessibility into building. Parking is off-site, by valet only at $18.00 per day. Cable cars go by the front door all day but are always full since they they load from the long line a few blocks down the hill. Complentary wine and cheese each evening consisted of a bottle of wine and a line of water crackers with cream cheese. Daily newspaper in the lobby was a nice addition as San Francisco news is so enlightening.
