You're either going to love it or probably hate it. We loved it. If you like a quiet, peaceful setting that's well off the beaten track, you're going to love it. It's 20 minutes off the highway in a very remote setting but it is wonderful if you're looking to just get away from the bustle and relax. We had a 2 bedroom unit right on the golf course and it was very nice except for the kitchen. The kitchen is VERY small with all pint-size appliances. The kitchen sink was one of those bar-size sinks (meaning VERY small). You couldn't even wash a small pot or pan in it. It was the most impractical kitchen sink I've ever had at a timeshare. The dishwasher was half the size of a normal dishwasher. There was no place for groceries and there was almost no countertop space. It was a good thing we weren't doing much cooking during the week. Although the kitchen was small, it did come nicely furnished with many things that you don't always find supplied: paper towel, salt, pepper, SOS pad, scotchbrite scrubbing pad, and dishwashing liquid.

Other than the kitchen, the unit was VERY nice. The living room is quite large with a gas fireplace and TV. The bedrooms were good sized, each with a TV and the bathrooms were nice size too. In the master bedroom walk-in closet is a washer/dryer and the resort provides a container of laundry soap and even a dirty clothes basket. The resort also provides free wireless internet service. That was a nice touch, especially since we had to do a bit of work on vacation.

We would definitely come back to this resort.

At an elevation of 4000 ft and surrounded by mountains, this resort is part of a vacation/weekend getaway neighborhood 2 hrs northeast of Los Angeles and 40 min from Bakersfield airport. It’s a great base camp for someone interested in exploring the Mohave Desert, Sequoia National Forest, Death Valley and the eastern slope of the Sierra. Or it can be used for a low key relaxing vacation with golf, nature walks and bird watching all around you.

We are Easterners and were there during a cold weather week early April hoping for desert wildflowers. We found everything we were looking for but had to do a lot of driving including an overnight trip to Death Valley (make reservations). As mentioned by a previous reviewer, this is a birder’s paradise, including a nesting pair of great horned owls in the immediate neighborhood and the surrounding mountains provided great scenery.

The units are spacious, well appointed and clean featuring a large high ceiling living room with gas fireplace, all necessities, including a small but functional kitchen. Only 4 of the units have a good view but all have balconies. Cable TV but no high speed internet access. The forced hot air heating system was very effective but a little noisy.

If you go, make sure you call ahead and reserve a unit with a view. We traded our view of the hot tub/spa for a roadside unit with a sliver of mountain view. We did not participate in any social gatherings but most of our neighbors seemed fifty something from the US, Canada and Europe. None of them were owners. Eating out was no problem although Tehachapi has few attractions beyond its railroad loop, wind farm and women’s prison.

Our one bedroom unit was spacious and beautifully decorated with floor to ceiling mirrors, marbled fireplace, granite countertops in full kitchen and bath. French doors opened to patio overlooking golfcourse. It was truly one of the most relaxing vacations we've had. We will return.

This is for golfers. The unit was homey and comfortable with little extras like coffee, sugar, detergent right there. Comfortable beds with 3 bigger than average TVs.The golf course was challenging but not too hard. In October there were 80 degree days and 50 degree nights for easy sleeping. Outside hot tub right where the units are. There are only 20+ units, so there are no lines, no waiting. We will go back if we can get in. Two beautiful hours out of LA

We exchanged for this resort through RCI within the 45-day window, I was very surprised but happy to get the week. We were in California for family business and couldn't go away for a whole week, so we gave the first three nights to recently married friends as a wedding present. They loved it and want to go back. We met them on the Tuesday morning and stayed for another 3 nights. I phoned the resort to explain our situation before purchasing a guest certificate from RCI, and they were very gracious, saying that if we were coming eventually there was no problem. All the resort staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time.

The resort is located about 15 min outside of Tehachapi in a lovely setting, rolling hills quite close to the southern end of the Sierras and also close to the beautiful Mojave desert. We had a two-bedroom unit that was very well- appointed, with a deck that looked out over the golf course. The two bedrooms were about the same size, which was nice for my brother-in-law who came along with us. Both bedrooms had large tv's, as well as the living room. The pullout couch was supersoft leather and as comfy as could be to lounge on, but the oversize armchair and ottoman was even comfier.

The living room had a gas fireplace that made the unit feel very homey, since the weather is cool in the evenings in late March. The kitchen was smaller than what I am used to in timeshares but well laid out and well equipped. There are hiking trails that leave from the resort grounds and give you great views of the countryside; Bakersfield is the closest big city for shopping although we never made it there. Groceries were inexpensive in Tehachapi. I almost hate to write this review because I think it is one of California timesharing's best kept secrets.

In a pleasant, quiet countryside with rolling hills, farms and ranches. We really enjoyed our vacation here. The area can have snow in the winter, but the heating in our unit was excellent, and was controlled by us. Also, the blankets were very heavy and warm. Housekeeping service was excellent. Our 2 bedroom unit was spacious, except for the kitchenette. Very small sink. Nice having laundry, dishwasher, and whirlpool tub in the unit. I would recommend this resort to those who want a quiet vacation in a remote spot. You'll need a car to get to the grocery store, and to see sights.
