I read the other reviews. The people who were disappointed should give it another try. Over the last year or so, they have made many improvements and are aggressively working to improve the units. They are in the process of replacing the stoves with glass-top stoves, rewallpapering, putting new tile in all the bathrooms and kitchens, replacing some kitchen chairs and stools and changing out some of the vanities and counters. They now have a full set of dishes, glassware and silverware. Could use some more pots and pans in some units, but you can get any extras you need from the office. They have added a TV in the Master bedrooms, upgraded all the TVs, erected a concrete wall between the resort and the street, etc.
Although this resort is a little older than some, I think in a year or so after they have made all their proposed and on-going improvements, it will be very popular and their rating will be a definite 4 star. Their helpful and friendly staff will always be a plus.
All rooms are oceanview (however, a couple rooms do have the pier blocking their complete view; but you can still see the beach and ocean). Also, within 20 minutes you can be in Savannah and the sites there are beautiful. The Riverfront is lots of fun with touristy shops and great eating places. Mary/4 Nov 08

This older resort is renovacating the property. They have done alot on the outside and have started on the units inside. The maintaince is extreamly high due to new insurance and remodeling. It keeps going up every year. It is no Hilton for sure, but it is clean and right on the beach. It has a outside pool, a game room with a pool table. On the beach is porch type swings, a nice pier, great restuarants, and some shopping. It is a laid back atmosphere of yesteryear. No high rises and not congested with a lot of traffic.A great place to go and relax, meditate and enjoy a family vacation. Savannah is about 20 minutes away and alot to do there. Units have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and they are all oceanview. They need new furniture, appliances and bedding, redecorating would help alot.Actually I love Tybee Beach!

WE stayed at Tybrisa from 9/16 - 9/23.. It is a low average for a beach condo.. We were on the 3rd floor looking over the Tybee Island Muni.pier... The thing that was glaringwas ..the dishies were very scarce..Had to run dish washer after evry meal..Barely place setting for 4 and certainly not 6..Pealing wall paper and walls and the unit needed maintenance.. WE did enjoy our stay but we wonder where the fees go? Ron & Norma Cleveringa...Don & Carol Slimm

This is an older timeshare without resort amenities. It is newly rennovated, clean and roomy. The people are friendly and willing to help. The beach is quiet and clean. There is a dock on site you can fish from. Not a lot for kids to do except the beach and game room, but Savannah is is 20 minutes away and has much to offer.

This place is an old worn out dump - DO NOT STAY HERE or BUY a UNIT. We stayed there this week and checked out early. The view was blocked by the pier and the unit was worn out. I have no idea what they are spending the maintenance fees on - I can say this, it is not on the units. The furniture was college dorm room quality. The walls all needed to be repainted or re wall-papered. The kitchen floor was ripped up and the carpet looked like it was 20 years old.
Now the good part - once you stay here you can always go home and never have to go back.
Local resturants were great --AJ's and the Crab shack both get high marks.
