Description

Lake Winnipesaukee-with nearly 200 miles of shoreline-is just a half-mile from your door at Village of Winnipesaukee. Waterskiing, boating, swimming, and sailing are only a few ways to enjoy the lake. Fish, stroll along the beach, or picnic on the shore. The Mount Wahington, a replica of an 1872 steamboat, runs daily and offers great views of the lake and nearby resions. At the resort, you'll find three lighted tennis courts and an outdoor pool. An 18-hole golf course awaits you only seven miles away. When winter arrives, visit Gunstock and Waterville Valley ski areas within a short drive from the resort to ski, snowboard, or sled. Fall brings it's own distinct beauty, as the area is ablaze with color. Relax and step back in time at this tranquil resort.

This is a really nice older resort. Beautiful views of Lake Winnipesaukee (where On Golden Pond was filmed). The units are very spacious with plenty of storage area, fully equiped kitchens with standard size frig and stove. Kitchen also has microwave and all appliances. Some units have fireplaces for those cold New England winter nights. All units have patio or balconys. Two or three bedroom with two bathrooms. You cannot get this at any hotel. Large pool and tennis courts for the warmer weather. Outdoor grills and lovely landscaped grounds. Within walking distance you are at the lake with a beach area for suning and also a small town like area where you can shop or eat while taking a break from the water and sun. There are many places to eat. Within an hours drive you could be at two different outlet malls and spend your day shopping all the great deals they have to offer. You could take a day trip to Portland, Maine and visit all the quant shops downtown and have lunch or dinner overlooking the Atlantic ocean. This is about an hour and 30 minutes away from resort. You also have Mt. Washington. This is a must see. Take the drive up the mountain while lisening to a guided CD in your car. Get to the top and you can see everything. What an amazing view and also one of the coolest locations on the east coast. Staying at the Village of Winnipesaukee is king of a central hub to nature and many, many attractions within minutes away. I love this resort and what a wonderful drive to get there. The staff of only a few are wonderful. If you need information on how to get somewhere to what's for dinner they will be glad to assist you. If you are looking for a big 5 star resort then don't come here. This is a smaller resort with personality and beautiful grounds just outside of your door. Almost lake front and a breath taking view of the sun rising and going down on Lake Winnipesaukee. I give this resort a 5 star rating and would stay here again.

We stayed in a 3 BR unit on the third floor. Nice view of the lake from the living room deck and from the master bedroom window but the unit was very, very small for 8 people. The pool was in a nice spot, but too cold for us in June. Beware of Motorcycle week usually the second week in June...very loud and busy. Great ice cream shop you can walk to. Visit the state park on the lake-it's free and really beautiful views!
