Stayed here in July of 2003. No microwave oven, and all the kitchen utensils were dirty. Even food still on forks, etc. UGH! I scoured everything before using it. The light in bathroom was out and we made 3 calls to the front desk about it. They never did replace it. We gave up and just bought a light and replaced it. The tv did not work but that was fine because we didn't come to Europe to watch tv. The resort is way off the beaten path, but the scenery is GORGEOUS. The resort had a nice restaurant on site, but it was OVERRUN with flies. You spent most of the meal trying to chase them away from your food. I tried not to think about the flies landing all over the food in the kitchen before it got to the customers. The waitress told us that they had a very wet spring and that caused the fly problem to be much worse then usual. I am glad I stayed here because the scenery was so beautiful, but I would NOT stay here again.

Stayed here May 29-June 5, 2004. Nice little town of Missen in a quiet area. Good Italian Restaurant at the Resort plus a traditional German Gasthaus, although the Gasthaus two blocks down the street was friendlier with better beer and food. Also the Gasthaus next to the Brewery where you can take a tour including traditional Weiswurst and Weisbeer brunch for 7 Euros, although tour is in Deutsch. Also not many people in the town or at the resort speak English so take a hand held translator if you don't speak German. The unit itself was clean and well built but the 3 bedroom only has one full bath with a sink and toilet only downstairs and the kitchen is very small/no microwave. Would give this reosrt 4 stars but they charged us 50 Euros (about $63) for a chair which broke when my neice's 95 pound friend sat in it. No sense disputing it with 3 dollar a minute phone calls to Germany. Local roads are a puzzle so expect to get lost but just enjoy the beautiful scenery and local flavor! You can even feed the local Reindeer down the road by hand!

Nice resort, units small by US standards but typical for European accomodations. Polite, friendly staff. Went in the summer, so skiing not evaluated, but the sightseeing was great. Lindau an easy drive, took a boat on the Bodensee (Lake Constance) on the German- Swiss border.

Drove to Neuschwanstein, the castle Disney used for a model. A long drive but worth it - the castle was rising out of the mists as we drove up. Do not, repeat not, walk up the hill!!! Unless you're an avid hiker, save your legs, take the horse drawn wagon up the hill and walk down.

One excursion, had to get out of the car to chase cows from the road -- they were making their way home for milking!

Eat some apfel (apple) strudel - it's served with warm vanilla sauce and ice cream - yummm.
