Sestriere (2035mt) is the most important tourist centre of the Piedmont Alps. You can be sure of a long ski season here, helped by artificial snowmaking equipment if necessary. In fact, this is the capital of a vast ski domain known as the Milky Way, where there are ski trails stretching into France. Sestriere, (which is on the World Cup ski circuit) offers cross-country skiing in winter. In summer there is golf on an 18-hole course and tennis.
