We've stayed at Dalfaber and would recommend it both for accommodation and location. The resort is in two halves that are separated by it's 9 hole golf course. We were in one of the newer 3 bedroom villas next to the river which was very spacious and well furnished. The traditional wooden chalets at the other side of the golf course were obviously older and looked smaller. We weren't inside so I couldn't comment on layout / furnishings.
The villa was well equipped and had a conservatory and sauna which were a treat after a long day on the go. The leisure facilities are good with some children's activities, not particularly special but ours enjoyed them.
For anyone visiting the area we'd recommend the Cairngorm Reindeer visit (beware they roam free on the hill and you walk with a guide to you find them), The Highland Folk museum at Newtonmore, Cairngorm Funicular and a visit to Inverness (30 minutes on the train).
2nd April 2007 - Just returned from another enjoyable week at Dalfaber. It you're looking for somwhere to eat out then wed recommend Roos Leap which is located at the front of the Railway station. Good variety of food on the menu and good service. Also worth noting that as well as the pool on-site you can now use the MacDonalds Leisure pool in the resort centre for free. Just pick up towels at Dalfaber reception and show your resort card at the leisure pool reception. The waterside and wave machine will keep the kids happy for a few hours.
Units are being refurbished, year 2 of a 5 year programme. Refurbished units look great.
