We are a family of 4, Mum, Dad, 8year old boy and our 15 month old baby. We went to Boambee for our first time mid December 2005 for 3 nights and had a fantastic, memorable time.
Firstly, the staff were extremely friendly and went beyond with local information etc to ensure our stay was well worth it. As I checked us in to the resort, they explained how if we decided to fly they also offer a courtesy pick up from the airport etc. To allow the kids to 'let off some steam' after our drive and I stayed checking in they directed hubby to the playground (next to the pool) for the kids. The 8yr old 'Fish' was sooooo excited in the car, talking about the size of the HUGE pool, sun- chairs for Mummy to rest, and Daddy and the baby could play in the spa! We arrived mid-day(early) and whilst we went and did our grocery shopping, the staff took our mobile phone number down and called us to say our room was ready. WOW, great service!
Unpacked and ready to HOLIDAY, we took off for the pool area (otherwise our 'fish' would have dehydrated)and checked out the restaurant (whose head chef was from Doyle's Sydney, a TOP, most famous seafood restaurant here in Oz). We made a booking for the following night, then and there, (it was definately YUMMO! and we ate there again the next night after that!) Next door was the cafe (overlooking the pool/spa area), squash court, gymnasium, Parents retreat/bar with 2 billard tables, lawn bowls, games/family room, half and full tennis courts, mini golf. Whilst walking past the squash court the Activities Co- ordinator called for our eldest to come over and JOIN IN! That was it for him for an hour or so, he'd made friends and was having great fun WITHOUT a Gameboy, Computer, Playstation II etc
That night at dinner we enjoyed talking of his Adventures without any speak of the above computer jargon - YIPPEE!!
IS THIS HEAVEN, WE BELIEVED IT WAS PROBABLY BUILT BY THE SAME BLOKE, BUT NEXT DOOR!
The next day we took off for a walk to the river where the 15month old joined us in the shallow, warm, clean estuary after we had walked to the beach.
There was a small verandah area off each unit which is glassed and screened off which was great for the wet towels, pram, our push bikes etc at night, and a relaxing wine after the kids went off to sleep.
We had just purchased time share here three weeks prior, site unseen and paid for this all too brief break. After this trip we are absolutely THRILLED with our purchase and would definitely recommend this very friendly resort. The port-a-cot and high-chair were even provided without cost, (a resort in Queensland in October charged us $60 for both for the week!!).
We may have been FIRST-TIMERS but we are definitely not shy of becoming FREQUENT FLYERS at this place. There is something for everyone and the main city of Coffs Harbour with its many attractions, restaurants etc is less than a 10 minute drive away.
