The Hammocks on Bald Head Island

At the center of Bald Head Island stands "Old Baldy", a famous old lighthouse that has led ships to safety since the early 1800's, high over the ancient live oak trees. Bald Head Island offers many activities such as golf on it's 18 hole golf course, some of the best fishing on the east coast, a full service Marina, miles of kayaking through it's 10,000 acre nature reserve and 14 miles of sandy beaches. Nature is admired and respected on Bald Head Island. Alligators, sea turtles, and other rare animals live on this lush island paradise. Bird-watching is a favorite pastime among many of the local residents. Retreat to an island with hundreds of years of history, shopping, restaurants, and other local attractions. No neon lights or high rises will be found here. The Island is only accessible only by private yacht or passenger ferry.
