Azul Hotel & Beach Resort

We just returned from a 1 week stay at the Azul Beach Hotel (2/3-2/9/07). It was nothing short of fabulous. It is a small intimate hotel with only 100 rooms. Even though they were filled to capacity, the place never felt crowded. All rooms have an ocean view and ours was no exception. The beach was fabulous. Not rocky or wavy as about 100 meter offshore is a barrier reef where people go snorkeling and this shields the beach from the waves. The food in all the restaurants was fantastic, and the staff was always accommodating and courteous. There is a kids club for children 4 - 12. My 4 year old son had such a blast he didn't want to leave. They even supply kids with buckets and shovels to build sandcastles. They even provided my son with the blow up swim bands and a swim board. The beach beds are the best thing ever. We will definitely return.
