Absolute Sea Pearl Beach Resort

We rented what was suppose to be a week from an "owner" who posted a rental on Redweek. His name is Bryan J. G. Lunt. He told us he was the owner of the week as indicated on his Redweek Posting. However, when we got to the resort in January 2007 we discovered that Bryan J. G. Lunt. is an agent of a travel and sales company called Life Time Travel that is located at the Sea Pearl.

As we stepped into the small, hot reception area, we were immediately approached by a"strong armed" agent who proceeded to tell us that we had signed up for a promotion stay and that we had to attend their presentation in order to stay there for the price we paid Bryan J.G. Lunt. This was shocking news to us!!!!. He also proceeded to be persistent about selling us their "Plan" at the cost of 7221 Baht($215 US) per person. The plan was for 7 breakfasts, an island tour that turned out to be a drive to some tourist shops with no information provided about the island, a dinner and show at Fantasea( half price at local stands) and a day trip to the Phi Phi islands(overcrowded and overrated).

We refused to attend a presentation since we rented "Bryan J.G. Lunt's week" in good faith. Because of the agent's persistence and our exhaustion on arrival at the hotel, we gave in and purchased this rediculously high price(for what we got) "Plan".

Redweek should not allow characters posing as "OWNERS" such as Bryan J.G. Lunt to advertise on Redweek. This website is suppose to be for honest timeshare owners who rent out their personal weeks to other honest timeshare owners.

We do not recommend this hotel for the following reasons: * See above * Most of the hotel is very hot since the air conditioning is only turned on the morning of a sales presentation. Rooms are air conditioned but very small and most rooms are located at the back of the building ,away from the sea with no balcony and facing a dirt, empty lot. *Pool is tiny with less than 10 loungers available for use * Photos on the website are very deceiving. Our room looked nothing like that. The hotel photo gives one the impression that it stands alone. However, they edited the photograph. There is a road in front of the hotel with many taxies, cars, buses and motor bikes blocking the sea view. There are also marketing offices attached to the small hotel and another hotel immediately next to the Sea Pearl. The area is very congested and very smelly due to the sewers. The stench hangs in the air at all times.
