This condominium resort is one of the very best in North Myrtle Beach, particularly for "shaggers" (the "shag" is a type of dance) and other people who like to be within walking distance of restaurants, shops, bars, and so forth. It is only 2 blocks south of Main Steet, home of SOS (Shaggin' on the Strand--held twice each year), so it's very near Fat Harold's, Ducks, Pirate's Cove, the Pavillion, Duffy's, etc. You never have to get into your car unless you want to go to one of the many nearby restaurants or to one of the attractions such as Alabama Theatre & Barefoot Landing which is just a few miles south on Hwy 17.

In addition, the drive to the "tourista" places in Myrtle Beach such as Broadway on the Beach, Hard Rock Park, Coastal Grand Mall, etc. etc. etc. are much easier to get to with the new roads (i.e. Hwy 31) going east & west from North Myrtle to Hwy. 501 & Myrtle Beach. You can visit these attractions and then return to North Myrtle Beach where the pace is a bit slower.....

We've rented 4-BR units at Ocean Bay Club numerous times during SOS (held spring & fall), in the summer months, as well as off-season and have never been disappointed. We made the mistake of renting in Myrtle Beach once and it was overrun with teen-agers (yikes!) setting off fire alarms & fire crackers all night long so we'll never make that mistake again. North Myrtle Beach has kids as well, but usually they are with their families and not running wild.
