We stayed at Evergreen 7-5 thru 12, 2008 and enjoyed the peace, quiet and natural setting there. Lots of trails to hike, including one up the hill behind the lodges at Evergreen. It goes up to an amazing house built back in the late 1800's;(info available at the resort, now abandoned, but maintained by Evergreen. Wonderful views from there. Oxford County area near Evergreen is full of old mines and places to hunt for mica, tourmaline, amethyst, aquamarine, etc. Some require quite a hike to them, but others are an easy trek from the road.

Our two room suite was simple but comfortable. It had an old combined stove, sink, refrigerator assembly of probably the 50's mode, but it was clean, it did what we needed. The staff were wonderful, friendly and quite helpful.

The down side, as it were, was that the nearest town of any size is at least 15 miles away. The closest store is less that ten miles, but is only open until 7 p.m. We were not aware that there was no grocery store of any size closer than 15 miles or we would have bought food, etc. before we checked in to the Inn. The coin laundry at the Inn is open 24/7 so that was good.

We would go again for sure, but come prepared with supplies before we got there. We exchanged a Silverleaf week for the week at Evergreen.

A very simple resort but peaceful and comfortable. Clean rooms with large common areas. Not a lot of perks but enough to enjoy a week in the forest if that is all you want.

We went in August.

Close to outlet mall in N Conway N.H. Approx 1 1/2 hrs from Portland and some beautiful beaches.

Lakes and ponds everywhere.

Many come in winter for snowmobiling and ice fishing.

A different experience then what we are used to but we plan on coming back.

We recommend Evergreen Valley highly. It is exactly what we were looking for. The resort is quiet and relaxing. It is tucked away from the traffic and noise of everyday America.

The key amenity is the White Mountain National Forest. The resort is at the beginning of The Evergreen Link Trail to the Cold Brook Trail. This trail ascends to the top of Speckled Mountain within the Speckled Mountain - Caribou Mountain Wilderness.

Other outdoor attractions are the Deer Hill Road to the Evans Notch Road (both closed in winter), the Deer Hill Trail, the Deer Hill Spring, the Deer Hill Amethyst Mine, Horseshoe Pond, the Sucker Brook Preserve, Minerals at Lord Hill, The Cole Quarry on Adams Mountain, Blueberry Mountain, Stone House Trail, The Brickett Place, and many other places.

The staff are friendly and professional. They offer excellent service and hospitality.

We also enjoy traveling off site in Maine's Oxford County. We are owners of timeshare weeks at Evergreen Valley.
