I have owned a villa at this resort since 2002 and have loved every minute of it. My life is changing so I have made the decision to sell it but I love the layout of the condo, the spaciousness, the amenities, and the staff of the Sheraton (managers for Lakeside Terrace) are wonderful. The necessity of going to the nearby recreation center to workout or swim are more than made up by the beauty of the area and the condo itself, especially the spaciousness of the master suite.

We have owned at Lakeside Terrace for ten years. It has wonderful access to both Beaver Creek and Vail-no need to rent a car as bus service to both ski resorts is right at the front door. Nice accomodations, free internet access, very nice patio overlooking a lake with skating when weather permits. Underground parking is nice in cold weather. There is a very well equipped rec center across the street from the Lakeside with basketball, hot tubs, water slides, weights, pool-great for the kids. Spacious master bedroom and second bedroom is also very adequate for two people. Complete kitchen facilities and everything works!!

Just returned from a ski week after exchanging to this property from Marriott Mountainside in Park City.

This property is OK but not in same class as any of the three Marriott timeshares I own. Compared to Park City, this feels more like a budget suite hotel. The units are entered from the outside - your front door is on a landing open to the winter elements. While we had no security issues during our stay, it would be easy for anyone to get into and around the building and up to your front door. The closest attendant is at the Sheraton a block away. Needless to say, there was no daily paper available - except a block away at the Sheraton.

Check in is at the Sheraton. We asked for a top floor when checking in and were accomodated which was nice. We actually were on the floor below the top but the "penthouse units" seemed to be unoccupied for at least 5 of seven nights

The appliances were cheap - coffee maker, toaster, blender. Coffee maker did not have an auto off feature. Microwave did not properly pop popcorn when the "popcorn" setting was used. It did not cook long enough to let even one kernel pop.

Any and all activities were also at the Sheraton - a block away. There was a welcome reception Monday night. If there is a pool - it is a block away at the Sheraton. We didn't hear much from those people except for the timeshare sales person who called the first two days then stopped.

Did I say it is usually very cold outside, like 20 something, so the walk between the building and the Sheraton is not excatly pleasant? Certainly not one you'd want to do after a swim in the evening or at night.

On the other hand, the jacuzzi tub in the Master was nice and welcomed after a hard day of skiing.

Furnishings, electronics and bed were OK - the kitchen cabinetry is the cheapest apartment quality. The guest bedroom had a window that would not close flush - good thing we had no one sleeping in it. That room was cold.

We arrived on Sunday; midweek cleanup occurred on Wednesday.

Getting around Avon , up to Beaver Creek or over to Vail is easy. There are free parking options at Beaver at a chair lift that moves you straight to Bachelor Gulch/ The Ritz. Or,you can take a free public bus that picks up between the building and the Sheraton and takes you direct to Beaver Creek Village - the main lift and mountain area. Must pay to park at Vail - approx $15 per day.

This was the second time we traded out of Park City to come to Vail/Beaver Creek. Both this property and Marriott Streamside were not "equal value" trades. This property, Lakeside Terrace, was better than Streamside.

With Mountainside as a benchmark, this is no better than a three star propertry on a five scale. Due to the physical set up it starts as a four star property and I found enough nits to pick that I drop it another notch. Next year we are back to Park City.

We stayed here in October 2004. All units are 2 bed, 2 bath, one level. Very nicely appointed rooms. Marriott quality in decor and features. The condo was spacious with a nice master suite with shower, and jetted tub. Fully stocked kitchen. There was a living room, dining room and an office alcove which was nice. We were able to hook up our laptop in our room and had free internet access. Tv's in both bedrooms and a TV/VCR in living room. Also had a balcony, with a bar-b-que. The view from the room of Nottingham park and lake was very pretty. There is a covered garage which would be very convenient in winter.

The resort backs up to a city center, with a library, rec center, fire station, police station and city hall. There was also internet access at the library, and complimentary use of the rec center with work out equipment, pools and day care. Lakeside Terrace is right next to the Sheraton Mountain Vista, but its rooms are twice the size.

Avon is a nice choice for skiers who want to ski Beaver Creek and Vail both. It is right next to Beaver Creek. It is nicely laid out mountain hamlet, and is actually newer than Vail. We found many activities to enjoy such as river rafting, hiking and horseback riding. Actually this entire area of Colorado is so scenic, that the drives through the countryside were also enjoyable, as the leaves were all turning color.

I think this is a better choice, than more than half of the rooms in Vail, because this is so much newer. It's only about 5 years old. It rated 5 stars all day long.

Execellent accomodations, covered parking, easy access to ski slopes, big roomy living area and the master bedroom and bath is spacious. We had everything we wanted. The kids enjoyed the pool and we relaxed in any of 4 different hot tubs.
