We visited the resort last summer on an exchange, and loved it so much we purchased a unit! I grew up vacationing on the Jersey shore, and it just cannot be beat. The beach is beautiful, the people are friendly and I always leave feeling relaxed. This resort is RIGHT ON THE BEACH! It is so convenient, especially with small kids in tow. There is so much to do nearby, or you can just stay in Brigantine and enjoy the beach with it's relaxing atmosphere. The resort is charming with it's art deco design and historical character. It is my favorite of all my ownership weeks, and I own a "Gold Crown" resort down south. I highly recommend this resort.

We own other timeshares, including some Gold Crown, high end properties. Yet we consider our two summer weeks at Celebrity Brigantine to be near the top of our favorites list. This 80+year old historic landmark building was a favorite hotel of Al Jolson, Al Capone, and other colorful guests. It went through some rough times after a prior ownership group went bankrupt. But after almost two years of major renovations, everything is really nice now.

The Atlantic Ocean beach, which is right outside the door, is spectacular. It is wide, clean, safe (lifeguards on duty), and never crowded. We have watched dolphins frollicking in the water, way off-shore, for hours. Even on the hottest days, when temperatures are in the high 90's in neighboring cities, the cool ocean breezes keep the temperature in Brigantine very comfortable. Owners and guests staying at the Marriott Fairway Villas timeshare (about 15 miles away) are told to come go to Brigantine or Ocean City to enjoy a day on the beach.

The on-site oceanview restaurant is a favorite of the locals. The island of Brigantine has very expensive condos and homes, with beautifully landscaped grounds (flowers everywhere!). There are old-fashioned shops and restaurants, mainly along Brigantine Blvd. (2 blocksaway) plus national franchises such as McDonalds, Burger King, CVS Pharmacy, Dunkin Donuts, etc... There are public tennis courts about 1/2 mile away. A library, with free Internet access (wi-fi throughout, even in the parking lot, plus about 12 computers for public use) is 3 short blocks away. There is wi-fi in the lobby of the resort, but only one computer for guest use, if you do not bring a laptop. And of course, the Atlantic City casinos (with lots of restaurants, buffets, and Las Vegas style entertainment) are an 10 minute drive, cab, or bus ride away. Sadly, the resort no longer runs a shuttle.

Further away are major malls, a winery, beautiful farmland, bowling lanes, multiplex movie theaters, antique shops and historical properties. In other words, something for everyone. You will nort be bored on this vacation!

Celebrity Resorts Brigantine Beach (also known as Brigantine Inn) has undergone a complete refurbishing - long overdue! With new windows, heat/air units, ceiling, appliances, carpeting, bedding, and flat-screen TVs, the units, though small, are very comfortable. The Inn is located right on the beach, with an oceanfront restaurant. It is a prime location on an island just minutes from the nightlife and casinos of Atlantic City, 30 minutes from Cape May, one hour from Philadelphia, and a three hour trip to New York City. The Inn offers an indoor pool w/children's pool, sauna exercise room, video game room, and laundry. Brigantine is a small town with a public golf course, and a wildlife refuge at the northern end. Shopping is convenient, with a supermarket and other stores. There is a walk-in medical facility on the island. We found the staff at the Inn to be friendly and helpful. As owners, we stayed a week in July, 2007, and were very upset at the condition of the Inn at that time, as it was under- going renovations. Upon visiting again in August, 2008, we were very pleased at the transformation. The location has always been spectacular, and now the facility is enjoyable as well.

Stayed there in July and all things considered, was a very enjoyable vacation. The location can't be beat. I was told the refurbishing will begin right after Labor Day 07. The idea is to bring the hotel back to its old grandeur. All units and common areas are suppose to be redone top to bottom. It definitely needs it. We stayed in the Villas which is a 4 story building next door. I believe the villa units are a little larger than the hotel units. We had plenty of room for 3 people and 4 would still have not been crowded. There was a very nice balcony for gazing out at the sea with morning coffee or afternoonn happy hour. The staff was very nice and helpful. Everything worked in the unit and the entire unit was immaculate. The pull out sofa bed was about the only thing I can give a definite negative to. We took turns sleeping on it so no one would end up with too many aches and pains. I'd stay there again, but think I will wait until after the refurbishing is complete.

My husband and I are long time owners of timeshare weeks at the Celebrity Resorts at Brigantine Beach. As for the building and it's pluses and minuses, I agree with the other two reviewers. The Brigantine Inn (old name) has all the C's-comfort, cleanliness, convenience, and I'll add character. On the other hand, it is a little bit shabby when compared to the sparkling new resorts nearby. I wish they'd give up on the stucco walls. They always need repairing.

We bought a summer week at the Brigantine in 1988 before we had children and three kids later, we are still vacationing there. It wasn't until the third child came along that we began to feel a little squeezed for space. The walk-in closet makes a great second bedroom for a little one when the sofa bed is already taken.

The Brigantine has something for everyone. Even when the weather is poor, there is plenty to do. There is an indoor pool, game room with huge tv screen and games, movies to rent, games to borrow from the desk, frequent shuttles to the casinos, and scheduled excursions to local points of interest. There was a library but I don't know there still is. The lobby is a serene setting for reading if the front patio is not an option.

Of course, when the sun is shining, the beach is literally right outside the front or side door. It's one of the cleanest beaches we've visited in New Jersey. A couple times, we encountered the biting flies.

I gave the Celebrity Resort 3 stars. High marks for the location, quality of the resort amenities, staff, and activities but not so high marks for their taste in room decor.
