Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains only three miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Alpine Village offers spectacular mountain views, tranquil surroundings, and warm hospitality. A tennis court is available at all times and a heated swimming pool is open during the summer. Several national and state parks are nearby, offering hiking trails throughout the mountains. Mount Mitchell Golf Course, one of the finest courses in North Carolina, is only two miles away. Visit the Biltmore House and Gardens, an 11,000-acre estate built by George W. Vanderbilt, located about 55 miles from the resort in Asheville.

We have stayed at Alpine Village several times. It is a quaint and beautiful resort. The views are wonderful, it is quiet and plenty to do in the area. We enjoy driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, visiting Blowing Rock, Black Mountain, Little Switzerland and Asheville. There is gem mining in Spruce Pine, hiking trails everywhere, waterfalls, caves, pottery shops and wonderful scenery.
The swimming pool is open during the summer months and is quite refreshing. If you like the mountains and want to get away from the hustle bustle - this is the place. People go back year after year.

Stayed here in May/02. Was tricky to find (plan well via your maps) - but well worth it. Extent of activities available via onsite/foot are limited to walks. You must have a car to enjoy the area. Resort is situation higher than one might expect - last climb to top is surprisingly steep. Many waterfalls to explore in surrounding area - very nature oriented resort - a wonderful break for urban folks. Accomodations are very good, slightly rustic, very functional. All are basically semi-detached homes, fully equipped, with 2 TVs, kitchens, utensils, etc. Barbeques on front porches - typically fantastic views from back porch. Can get windy overnight. Wonderful surrounding area to explore. Great resort to relax at, bring your own activites to entertain kiddies.
