Cadiz, Kentucky, United States, North America 42211
Vacation Club International is located on Lake Barkley and near Kentucky Lake. Nearby is an area known as "The Land Between the Lakes," a 170,000-acre peninsula. The resort encompasses three acres of shoreline along 62,000-acre Lake Barkley. Here, you can enjoy waterskiing, sailing, swimming, and fishing. Marinas are close by for equipment rental. Be sure to visit the 1850's Homeplace, which features craftmaking and costumed interpreters, who describe typical pioneer farm life. Horseback riding, canoeing, and hiking are some of the other activities nearby. This is an area rich in tradition and culture, and you will be amazed at all there is to do and see while here.

I wish I could give this resort a higher rating. The staff were nice and the potential of the resort could make it a four star rating. It's main problem is cleanliness. The office and game room had a terrible smell. The pool needed to be cleaned better daily. The carpet in our condo was filthy. Our clean feet would turn black almost instantly when we would walk on the carpet. The first look at the condo inside looks clean (tub, sinks counter etc.) I think they do the normal daily after the client leaves cleaning but they need to do some spring cleaning. The outside of the condos needed to be powerwashed and painted. The screened in porches were nice and clean on the inside but to look out and see all the bugs and cobwebs hanging from the screens and outside walls was disgusting. They have several weeks available for resale. I might have been interested but not the way they are letting it get run down.

I spent the week of November 1, 2003 at Vacation Club International in Cadiz/Canton, KY.. this is a very small, aged resort with few facilities and little to offer in a non-prime season.. I stayed in a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom, full kitchen unit.. a major plus is the screened porch which adds additional living space and is a comfortable outdoors setting bug free.. the rooms are relatively large, clean and well maintained.. the resort has an outdoor swimming pool (closed in the off season) with a large sun deck and an indoor jacuzzi.. it is located on the Eastern edge of the'land between the lakes' which is a national conservation area.. boating and fishing is the major draw of the area..
Cadiz is about 15 miles east of the resort and an easy drive.. grocery stores, library, antique shops, restaurants, etc. are available in Cadiz... a car is essential.. the resort is about a 90 minute drive from Nashville and provides a good alternative to the one timeshare resort in Nashville..
There is no welcome party, no sales presentation (the resort is sold-out and only resales are available), no activities coordinator.. I rate the resort as a 6.. clean, comfortable and quiet with few activities or attractions.. Joe Tragesser

If you want to relax this is the place. It is so beautiful and the pool was great for kids as well as adults. We vacationed there in late June, 2003. The unit was roomy and comfortable and if you love to fish, this is the most wonderful vacation spot you could imagine. Even a special place to clean your catch. The view of the lake is out- standing and the weather was nearly perfect... Hot but not muggy. Lots of nearby things to see, too.

Stayed 2X, once in off season and once during high season. Had a great time both visits.
Units were clean and staff was excellent.

We stayed here in Late March. It was off season, but we found things to do. Resort was older, but clean and ok furnishings. Nothing great, but sufficent. Had a free laundry on sight.
