Located near Greer's Ferry Lake, the resort covers more than 14,000 acres, largely left undeveloped to preserve the natural beauty. The 40,000- acre lake features a full- service marina. The on-site tennis center and golf courses have been rated among the best in the state. A playground, four outdoor pools, and a miniature golf course are at the resort as well. Area attractions include Blanchard Springs Caverns and the Ozark Folk Center. Branson is 125 miles away.

Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Bay lies spread amidst more than 14,000 acres in the grassy foothills of the Ozark Mountains. The grounds are left largely undeveloped, allowing guests to experience the area's natural beauty for themselves. A full-service marina is situated on the 40,000 acre lake, and the onsite golf course is rated one of the best in all of Arkansas! In addition, Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Bay features a playground, four outdoor pools and one indoor pool, four children's pools, three restaurants, a fitness center, multiple sports courts and game areas, a grocery store and a minigolf course all onsite!

One and two-bedroom suites are decorated to mirror the tranquil yet untamed spirit of the Ozarks. Bold, modern touches blend with homey prints and wooden furniture to create an ambiance both upscale and yet "just like home". Suites include full kitchens, in-room washer and dryer, private balcony or terrace, cozy fireplace, whirlpool bathtub, and extra comforts like cable TV, DVD player, hairdryer, AM/FM alarm clock, iron and ironing board.

The relaxed spirit and beautiful scenery of Fairfield will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized. Nearby Greers Ferry Lake provides opportunities from watersports ranging from fishing to sailing to swimming. Head to the Fairfield Bay Marina for water sports equipment rentals, dinner cruises and sightseeing trips. Embark on a hike up Sugarloaf Mountain to experience beautiful panorama views of the Fairfield Bay area. In Fairfield proper, visit the Fairfield Bay Tennis Center or Indian Hills Country Club for premier golfing opportunities. The nearby Ozark National Forests and Blanchard Springs Caverns will wow visitors with scenic splendor.

Our recent stay at Fairfield Bay was quiet and enjoyable. As the original resort in the Fairfield group, this vacation spot still remains a natural beauty, although the widely spread community boasts 2500 permanent residents. This city is governed not only by a mayor and elected officials but also by a long-standing community board. There is currently some disagreement about the placement of a proposed hotel, but residents realize the importance of new growth.

Our two bedroom unit was close to the tennis courts, which are being redone. These four Cliffside buildings are three stories with access at the second level. They are roomy and include a fireplace and a 10 x 10 master bath with an enormous Jacuzzi. The view was of trees and the lake was some distance away. While visiting the Bay, we bowled, played mini golf, attended the weekly two step dance at the senior center, went to the library, listened to karaoke performers, viewed the museum, the marina, and the two highly-rated golf courses. We also drove throughout the surrounding scenic areas; note - the highways are hilly and full of curves.

Our overall impression was that this must have been a top of the line facility about 15- 20 years ago; the staff is certainly friendly and efficient and the residents are well pleased with their community. However, the convention center is shuttered as are most of the shops in the on site mall. Units are beginning to show their age; can they be modernized? Can we? The addition of a first rate fitness center five years ago is a huge boost, but the area must attract more visitors, more families, and new businesses. Meeting this challenge will determine the course of this lovely Fairfield resort.

Excellent place to take the kids. The pools are great and are very uncrouded. We have stayed here twice and have had a great time everytime. Very laid back. If you want to go for a treat run with the kids after 8pm forget it as they roll up the sidewalk after 7pm. But if you are looking for a great clean condo with great pools, great golf courses and very much uncrouded this is your place.

Unlike all of the other Fairfields I've visited this

had steps and this trip I was travelling with

my parents, who are elderly and the steps

were not condusive to their needs. But the

unit was beautiful and well kept. We were

right on the golf course and the greens were

      amazing.

I think getting there was half the fun. The

drive from the airport was breathtaking.

Quiet seclusion, very nice accomodations. We stayed there in March of 2002. Although it rained several days during our stay, the time spent there was well worth it.

Mountain Ranch Golf is one of the toughest courses in the U.S. Each nine holes is different with the front nine rolling hills and wide fairways. The back nine is cut through the Ozarks Mountains with narrow fairways. The 50,000 acre lake is fabulous. Plenty of room to accomadate ANY water activity. The units are spacious and border on the golf course.
