We enjoyed our stay at the Coconut Palms Resort. This nice little family oriented Resort offers a quiet stay off the beaten pass of the mass Tourism like in other places of the Dominican Republic. Yes the Beach is 10 minutes away but the Resort offers a shuttle service. We enjoyed the Restaurant with the All Inclusive features. This is not the place where you meet a 100 wild ones in Disco but a nice place to relax and enjoy yourself. If you want to enjoy the countryside on horseback or ride to the beach, there are rental stables nearby. We prefer smaller locations for our holidays and don't want to be number 500 in one of those mass tourist hotels, so this was quite right for us.

Unless this place has been upgraded drastically in the past two years, I would strongly recommend that you not go here. We took another couple and were embarassed by the condition of the rooms and the pool area. There were big cockroaches on our walls and the electric went off everyday. No air conditioning, but they did have fans. The place is isolated and you can't walk around the place after dark. The staff did not seem to care about us being comfortable. I could go on and on about this place and how bad it was, but I won't!

The place is clean and friendly but you need to take a shuttle bus to Cabarete Beach. Our unit was next to the bar which was very noisy and we could not sleep until it was closed down. The windows have to stay open because there is no airconditioning.
