Seymour DeSytes here, the Timeshare Ambassador. I am guest writing this month's newsletter in order to introduce myself, and share with you some of the great timeshare opportunities I have found on my travels.
RedWeek.com has dispatched me on a mission to spread the word about the benefits of timeshare travel, sniff out the best deals on timeshare rentals and resales, and report back with some stories "from the road". Sort of like that Charles Kuralt fellow used to do on CBS, minus the motor home and secret mistress. Hmmm, maybe that's not the best analogy, but I think you get the idea.
Although my assignment just started in April, I have been bouncing all over the U.S. I've picked a few highlights below, and you can read about all of my adventures on my blog.
The Manhattan Club
in New York, NY, was a first class experience from the moment I entered the front door. During my stay I ate a pastrami sandwich the size of a throw pillow, paid $175 for a hamburger, and ran into a naked cowboy. You gotta love NY, and you gotta stay at the Manhattan Club.

Marriott's Custom House
in Boston, MA, is the perfect blend of rich cultural history and modern luxury. When you go, be sure to hit Ye Olde Union Oyster House, the oldest continuing operating restaurant in America. You can order Daniel Webster's favorite: 36 oysters and 6 brandies. I chickened out and went with the "chowdah". It was sublime.
Rentals start at $171/night.
Own for only $16,500.

Wyndham Kingsgate
in Williamsburg, VA, is the heart of America's Historic Triangle and the place where this country got its start. I spoke to Pocahontas at Jamestown, got put in the stocks at Colonial Williamsburg, and saw the spot where the British called it quits at Yorktown, all within minutes from Wyndham Kingsgate.
Rentals start at $67/night.
Own for only $2,000.

Ask the Timeshare Crusader
Our "Ask the Timeshare Crusader" series continues this month with a question from David:
What do you do with a timeshare when its value is less than the annual dues and rental cost can't match the annual dues? What happens when you can't pay the annual dues?
Indeed, this is a difficult position to be in. You aren't to blame for this situation — shame on the resort for increasing the fees so much that the rental income is less. However, you do have a few alternatives…

Seymour here again. Did you know migrating monarch butterflies stop in Pacific Grove from October to February each year? We're talking tens of thousands of them folks. Like a shriners convention for insects.
And the PIne Acres Lodge, with it's low-key, family friendly, rustic motif, puts you right in the heart of all the action…

Member Review
"We stayed here in October and we really liked the location. We had a two bedroom townhouse. We could view the ocean about two blocks away from the second level window. About a mile from the resort is the Pacific Grove golf course. We ate at several good restraunts. The units were recently remodled and were very clean. I can't wait to go back."
