Ask the Timeshare Crusader
Our "Ask the Timeshare Crusader" series continues this month with the following question from Nancy:
We own three RCI points timeshares, which we purchased on the secondary market. At a recent "owner presentation" at one of them, our sales rep reviewed our properties and told us that two of them would eventually be "caught" by RCI and reverted to weeks. He said that points do not transfer to non-relatives through a resale, and that RCI would contact us and expect us to pay a sizable fee to continue on the points system. Is this true?

"We have been staying at the Edgewater Beach Resort for years. We love the location and the private beach. The staff has been great, and there is always plenty of activities for the kids. When the kids get tired of the ocean and sand, they love to play in the pool. There are lots of great restaurants in the area, and it's so nice to have the kitchen and eating area, and we usually eat in (or out on the patio) for breakfast and lunch.
