Here In the U.S., a very few states (only 3 states, to be precise) have a contract rescission period of only 3 days. In most U.S. states, the contract rescission period is 5-7 days (although it's 10 days in both Florida and Tennessee). I do not believe that a cancellation period of "within 48 hours" exists [b]anywhere[/b].
