Per the owner: We have owned at Heidelberg Inn for over twenty-five years. When our daughters were younger, we enjoyed the hiking and visiting near-by National Parks and Monuments. Mammoth Lakes, a twenty minute drive, gives you access to Devil's Postpile and Rainbow Falls with easy to difficult hiking trails. The Tioga Pass, a twenty minute drive from the Heidelberg Inn, is an entrance into Yosemite. With the numerous lakes, our daughters learned to fish and were able to horseback ride over the mountains, along water falls. Having a two bedroom unit gave us high trading power. We never had a problem trading our week for prime resorts in both the US and international resorts.

    June Lake, California

Tucked away in the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains, The Heidelberg Inn blends a rich history with luxurious vacation amenities. Getting its start in 1928, the inn starred in such Hollywood movies as Road to Utopia and housed stars Clark Gable, Betty Grable and others. Onsite amenities include daily activities, DVD rentals and games at the front desk, pool table and ping pong table in the game room, outdoor hot tubs, sauna, ski lockers, barbecue pit and a large TV and cozy fireplace in the resort's lounge!

Heidelberg's one and two-bedroom villas are warm and inviting - perfectly comfortable to relax in after a day exploring. The one-bedroom suite comes with room for up to four guests and a partial kitchen, while the two-bedroom is ideal for up to six and features a full kitchen. Both configurations offer home-like comforts such as cable TV, DVR, AM/FM alarm clock and Wi-Fi access.

This valley surrounded by high mountain peaks and a variety of ski resorts, earning it the moniker "Switzerland of California." The area is most famous for its trout fishing, either still fishing the lakes from a boat or float tubing, or shore fishing in the many lakes and streams. Bait fishing is popular, as are spin casting with lures and fly fishing. The lakes are cool, and swimming is ideal come midsummer. Opportunities abound for rugged mountaineering and other climbing activities, bicycling, photography, bird watching and more.
