Per the owner: Every time we go to the Grand Solmar we feel like we are getting to experience luxury accommodations and high end customer service that is not always found when you book a room at other resorts, or hotels. The Presidential Suite is very spacious and we enjoy having the extra room to share with other family members and guests without feeling like we are on top of each other. It is not often that you have a place where you can invite a quest to join you on a vacation and be able to offer them their own large bed and private bathroom with a full shower. In short we choose the Grand Solmar as it is located in a town that is very safe for tourists to come visit, the water is safe to drink all over Cabo San Lucas so there is no fear in getting sick. This makes it very easy to go out and try the many different restaurants and bars that make Cabo San Lucas a great tourist destination. Most of the other high end resorts sit out on the tourist corridor or are further away that you have to rent a car or take a taxi to get to town to enjoy dinner away from the resort. This is not an issue at the Grand Solmar as they are very close to the marina and down town. We also like that the resort is a luxury resort and the staff, is very customer service focused. The weather in Cabo San Lucas is another plus. It is mostly sunny and very little humidity. When you sit on your balcony or at the pool you can watch the whales go by which is a big plus during the early spring season when they migrate. Fishing is always great in the area and diving is amazing especially if you take a short trip up to Cabo Pulmo National park which is just north of San Jose del Cabo. It has the only hard coral reef in North America. The Grand Solmar is very laid back and the guests are friendly and are mostly there to get away from the crowds and enjoy the quiet and beauty of the resort and area. Guests that we have taken there have frequently comments on how beautiful the resort is and how attentive the staff is. They love not having to fight for a beach chair and like to be waited on around the pool area. The restaurants are all great and if you don’t feel like eating at the resort it is a short walk to town to try out the local dining options.
