We purchased a getaway thru II for our week stay at La Ermita. We are seniors from Arizona (early 70’s). We spent two weeks in Spain the first week at Mira Flores on the shores of the Mediterranean and the last week at La Ermita. The white village of Mijas is located in the mountains above the Costa del Sol with spectacular views of the mountains and the sea below. Our unit was in the Picasso Building Number 6 with unlimited views of our surroundings. The parking was underground with 20 spaces, quite tricky to maneuver around the pillars. There was one unit above us, sitting back creating an uncovered patio area for our unit. During the day we were quite open to the sun, while a patio umbrella was provided, it created very little shade. We requested a larger umbrella towards the end of our stay but it never arrived. We enjoyed two bedrooms and two baths, the layout was very nice and roomy, with a fireplace and dining room and well supplied kitchen. A clothes washer and rack for drying was an added bonus. We cook in 95% of the time; therefore we did our grocery shopping down in Costa del Sol. Upon check-in with Pablo 1 and Pablo 2, (they were great) we were charged 42 euro for electricity usage and 20 euro for wi-fi. Our unit was air conditioned and the wi-fi worked great. There are two outdoor pools one for adults and one for families. We noticed that there was absolutely no noise from the family pool, this was very true in all of our stays in Europe. The resort has an indoor pool that was divine, soft music, warm water and an aromatherapy shower. Mijas Pueblo was unbelievable. Small village with shops, restaurants, burro taxi’s, horse carriage rides, flamingo dancers in the town square on Wednesdays at Noon. We were at the square when the greatest high school band put on a performance, they were from NORWAY. Added treat was the First Universal Museum of Miniatures, don’t miss it. From the resort it is a short walk up a steep hill for a block and then head right to the parking garage, enter and look for the elevator which will deposit you on main street in town. Buses from Costa del Sol visit Mijas during the day and after they depart things become a slower pace.

La Ermita is only part finished . The apts that are being used are very nice and the staff very helpful. The site of unfinished building next door is not what you would want to see on your holiday. This building as been like this for about 2 years. Only facilities are 2 outdoor swimmimg pools 1 with a childrens section. The views out to the sea are lovely and the beautiful village is only a 2 min walk away.
