Ask the Timeshare Crusader

Lisa Ann Schrier Our "Ask the Timeshare Crusader" series continues this month with a question from Emma:

I am new to the world of timeshare rentals - in fact, I didn't even know I could rent a timeshare until a friend told me about it. Boy, wish I'd known about this when my kids were little! Anyway, why is it that renting a timeshare is the best kept secret in the travel industry?

You raise a great question. I too wish that the idea of renting a timeshare was more well known by the traveling public. Not only is the concept a win-win… Read Lisa's full answer »

Resort Takes Back Owner's Weeks

The RedWeek Forums are a great source of information for timeshare owners and travelers alike. One RedWeek user shares the story of how one simple phone call to his resort HOA resulted in the resort taking his ownership weeks back. "The expense was minimal and we are now free of them," writes donp196. "Who knew just a simple phone call would start the ball rolling."

Read the entire Forums thread to see how he did it, and what other RedWeek users have to say about it.

"It's yours in perpetuity," he said. That wasn't totally accurate, I discovered years later… Read the full article »

Member Review:

"Overall this is a top notch property, far more luxurious and better maintained than the neighboring Marriott timeshare at Ocean Pointe. The beach, pool and fitness center are outstanding. The room sizes are quite a bit smaller than at Ocean Pointe, but they are better maintained and more tastefully furnished. Marriott has done a superb job on this new property. Congratulations are in order. We definitely plan to return."
