Timeshare Vacation – Free Things to Do in the City Part 1 – Las Vegas

published on June 28, 2013 by

Plans for summer vacations are in full swing, and many of you are getting your vacation budget handled by staying in a timeshare rental.

But the climbing expenses of transportation – increasing costs of gasoline for driving, the many add-on fees when flying – can eat away at that vacation budget.

However, there’s still plenty of activities and events that the family can enjoy by searching out a city’s “freebies.” In a 5-part series we’ll look at cities where you can have a great time with real no-cost entertainment. Part 1 – Las Vegas.

This “Party City” knows how to entertain. Skip the pricey headliner shows – there is plenty of spectacles for free.

1. Mirage. One of the most exciting free shows is the Volcano at the Mirage (see top photo).

This pyrotechnic display definitely offers a lot of bang for your (no)bucks. Erupting every night on the hour from 7pm to 11pm, the explosions are accompanied by a soundtrack.

2. Bellagio. The Fountains at the Bellagio, though quieter, are just as much a grand spectacle. Water, light and music combine in a spectacular choreographed dance. The music can range from Mozart to Snoop-Dogg, with Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and Three-Dog Night thrown in.

3. Flamingo. For a day-time treat, take the kids to the Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo. Here they can see the hotel’s signature flamingos live and in person, along with ducks, turtles, swans, and colorful koi.

4. Silverton. The kids will also enjoy the huge 117,000 gallon aquarium at the Silverton Casino, filled with exciting marine life to watch. Including mermaids. At various times Thursdays through Sundays, live “mermaids” drop into the aquarium for a swim with the stingrays, sharks and thousands of beautiful tropical fish.

5. Downtown. If you want to get your grove on, head downtown for First Friday Las Vegas for free concerts, an art walk, and there’s even a Kid’s Zone.

6. The Strip. Of course there’s always the free neon light show for which Las Vegas is so famous. Just stroll along the Strip. There’s plenty to see that’s fun, eclectic and exciting. Take a picture of the gang in front of the sparkling Eiffel Tower, the dazzling Palazzio, or the shimmering Marage.

Las Vegas timeshare rentals on the Strip start at just $79/night.
