SAN is really too far to drive, IMO, unless one is stopping along the way for sightseeing/vacation destinations. LAX is about an hour away in light traffic. SNA is 15-20 minutes from the resort. ONT and LGB (Ontario and Long Beach) are possible too, less of a drive than SAN but more than LAX. We own at NCV and have flown out of SNA a number of times. The airport operations hours are limited due to noise restrictions, so there isn't the flexible flight schedule as with the other area airports. Pat
