Linda that is strange, the people I would talk to is owner services at Marriott Ownership. Also, they have ways of switching the resort for you - I know it’s not what you want to hear, but sometimes, they have locations close by that they also own they could have you use that week there instead (there may be a fee), but if you have a particular week- you should be able to deposit for it and reserve.
