Disney Vacation Club drops II

[Q=mike1536] [Q=marty8084] Disney Vacation Club has dropped Interval International as an exchange partner and is now exclusively with RCI. [/Q] This is not new news. DVC switched to RCI a long time ago. The bad news is that many people who used to be able to trade into DVC with II now have a problem with RCI since some of their RCI units don't have the trading power. The good news is that people in RCI Points have a better chance of getting into DVC. However RCI has a regional block on Orlando owners trading into DVC. If you own an RCI POints resort based in FL, then you cannot use your points to get a DVC unit. RCI also offers DVC units for rent, though prices for a week are extremely high.[/Q] This is not 100% accurate the block on local ownership is within a 30 mile radius of the DVC resort not all of Florida so if you own in Fort Lauderdale you can still trade into DVC in Orlando, also the block is a DVC rule not RCI's, RCI simply abides by it. The change over to RCI happened last January
