MARION VERNER HAS BEEN RELEASED - BUT SHE ISN'T OUT OF JAIL JUST YET ! At a special court hearing yesterday Marion S. Verner changed her plea from Not Guilty to Guilty on Count 1, Grand Theft and Count 2 Conspiracy to organised fraud, thereby avoiding a jury trial on both counts. Put briefly, her plea-deal caused the prosecution to drop the prosecution on Count 1 in return for five years probation plus restitution to the single victim of the Grand Theft case. On Count 2 (which is the case you all are interested in) she was sentenced to 18 months in jail (of which she has currently served almost 6 months) followed by 5 years probation plus restitution to her victims and court and investigation costs. So she was released on one charge - but not the other ! She is still currently in Polk County Jail being held for transfer to a State of Florida Detention Center, where she should have an uncomfortable year or so to serve before being deported back to the UK to serve her probation.
