Re: How to get rid of a timeshare you no longer want .... (by R P.):
If you paid the developer $11000, you will likely get only 1/3 - + to 1/4 - + of that. When searching for resales people are looking for bargains and fair prices, not developer prices.
We owned a developer week at a very popular gold crown resort in Florida. We paid $11000 for the week, which the unit was in a very popular location of the resort, but when we got ready to sell we could get only $2900 which is typical and an average return on a developer bought resale.

I really wanted week 32 or 33 (3rd week in Aug.) but as someone said, a slick salesman and boom I have week 27. I really love it there, but have been trying to exchange it with no luck. I really don't want to sell it because I can't afford to take a beating...I am trying to sell it for 11,000....does that sound high? I have been researching sites as well and there are TONS of people who will gladly do the "work" for me but at a steep price. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
