I agree with Jay.. we own 3 Marriott timeshares and we purchased each one privately, we do not get points but we have saved a ton of money from buying resale. One of our timeshares is in Hilton Head and we have been there once and decided to not go back. We trade or bank this week every year and Interval gives a bonus week each year. We have been very successful in trading within and out of the Marriott system and it is very easy. Marriott is color blind within their sytem.
