Re: Question - Has Anyone stayed at the Grandview at Las Vegas (by Chris J.):

Stayed there in September. There are so many things to do in Vegas, other than gambling, it boggles the mind. By the way, if you want to have one of the best prime rib dinners and dining experiences ever, go to Lawry's on Flamingo, and ask to be served by Ms. Tremble (you can make reservations online, before you leave you home, at all of the places I have suggested, just use your search engine find them). Anyway, here are a couple of suggestions other than the strip: 1)Spend the day at Red Rock Canyon or The Valley of Fire State Park (both require a minimal entrance fee) and spend the day enjoying the scenery. 2)Take a dinner cruise on Lake Meade. 3)My favorite thing to do is drive up to Mt. Charleston and spend the day there. Bring some food and drinks, have a picnic at the 8000ft level (you can drive there) go to the ranger station and get information and brochures on the trails/nature. Then, if you're in decent shape, do a couple of walks. The trails are as short as a few hundred feet or many miles. The walks can turn into hikes and range from easy to strenuous, but all are well worth the time. No matter your age or physical condition, it's a once in a lifetime thing to do. My 77 year old mother-in-law did an actual strenuous hike with us to Cockscomb peak, which is at the 9300ft. level! At least, take a drive up there. If you would like information on how I got a very inexpensive rental car at alamo, just let me know. Sorry I'm so long winded, but I know a great deal about vegas...
