Re: Manhattan Club Lawsuit (by William M.):
My buy-back experience. 1. About two months ago I called TMC and got the extension of the appropriate department. 2. I called, and they sent me the paperwork. It was extensive, about eight signatures had to be notarized. 3. They supplied the UPS envelope to send it back. 4. I did not receive a conformation. Today I called and was told I was no longer a TMC owner. I asked for a confirming email and was sent one. 5. I was told the $100 would take a few months. Who cares?
Why was my experience so easy? Here are some possibilities. 1. I never had a mortgage. 2. My maintenance fees were current. I never missed or was late with a payment.
3. This is probably the reason. My contract was for seven days over two years. I had three days on odd numbed years, and four days on even numbered years. I could use my days one, two, three, or four days at a time. probably screwing up the reservation calendar. If many people, with the same contract as I had, used their days one, two, three, or four days at a time, it probably prevented some folks from booking a whole week.
I enjoyed the 12 years I was a TMC owner.
