You do not need legal assistance of any kind to rescind a timeshare contract within the cancellation time period provided by applicable state law (3 to 10 days, depending on the individual state). In most states it's 5-7 days, but Florida and Tennessee allow 10 days). A few states (MA and two others) allow only 3 days! The rescission letter only needs to say that "I /We hereby exercise our legal right to rescind the purchase of (insert purchase details)". Period, amen. Nothing more, no further explanation required.
Everyone who signed the purchase contract must sign the rescission letter, which should then be sent by certified USPS mail. Date of postmark (not the date of later receipt by the addressee) is the only date that matters in terms of complying with the applicable state law deadline. Don't delay --- if you snooze, you will lose.
